Now she is going against her own cabinet..

"A cabinet majority for no deal was ignored in favour of a customs union consensus with Jeremy Corbyn"

A cabinet in favour of NO DEAL

A Country in favour of NO DEAL

We get closer to civil war.
Depressing you Remoaners are happy for such just to get your way.
For civil strife is coming when democracy is overturned.

Just a question of "When" now.

Brussels set to REJECT May's Brexit delay UNLESS Britain holds EU Parliament

elections

EU Council chief Donald Tusk yesterday urged European leaders to be patient with

Theresa May after the Prime Minister requested yet another extension to Brexit –

but Brussels is set to reject her plan, Express.co.uk understands.

Speaking from Downing Street, Mrs May suggested she would make any further Brexit

delay “as short as possible”. But her request, which contains little detail, is

likely to infuriate EU leaders ahead of an emergency summit in Brussels next week.

Responding, Mr Tusk promised to listen to the Prime Minister’s latest plan and

urged European colleagues to do the same.

The European Council president said: “Even if, after today, we don’t know what the

end result will be, let us be patient.”

Mrs May vowed not to hold European Parliament elections in the UK in her address

to the nation.

The British Prime Minister said: "I have always been clear that we could make a

success of no deal in the long term but leaving with a deal is the best solution.

"So we will need a further extension of Article 50 – one that is as short as

possible and which ends when we pass a deal.

This is where democracy breaks down. How many Tory members? c. 150,000. They get to choose candidates for MP. And worse, the next PM. Slightly better in Labour, with c. 500,000 members.

Any suggestions to change this?

The nearest that has EVER been seen to this was Ramsay Macdonald.

Now she is going against her own cabinet..

It was billed as the ultimate Brexit showdown and in the end the seven-hour marathon cabinet meeting ended in rows and recriminations after a cabinet majority for no deal was ignored in favour of a customs union consensus with Jeremy Corbyn.

Labour only involved as a Tory damage limitation offer.

Labour need to stand firm , if they do May will be backed into a corner.

General Election and Tory wipeout await.

Exclusive from TND in the Sun:

BORIS BOOST Major rule change to Tory leadership contest boosts Boris Johnson’s hopes of becoming Prime Minister
Under the proposed shake up, MPs in the Tory party would select four candidates for Conservative members across the country to pick from.

Only a proposal at this point.

The enemy at last was plain in view, huge and hateful, all disguise cast off. Evelyn Waugh, Sword of Honour.

It is now beyond all doubt that every word she ever said about Brexit was a lie; clear that she is happier to work with the most extreme socialist ever to lead the Labour Party than with her own cabinet.

Are the MPs who failed to get rid of her when they had the chance proud of themselves?

'Who's pulling her strings, who are the faceless officials at no.10 working behind the scenes writing her speeches and who is behind them? Powerful and dark forces at work to overturn democracy. Don't believe she's acting alone.'

Good to see someone is wide awake...spot on Pete. I feel sick - we will never be allowed to leave.

I'm resigned to be never able to understand people like Careful.

Careful, why do you want to sack all the MPs who merely want to carry out the actions the public want them to do?

Why do you think 'the people will now get behind and support May'? Don't you realise she has alienated almost everyone, lab, cons, liblabs, her cabinet, the opposition, remainers, leavers, those who didn't vote, the old, the young. Your views really beggar belief.

Anyway, it's all in the open now. May, most MPs, all the eu, will ensure we don't leave even though they have effectively been ordered to get us out by the voting public.

The implications for uk politics are pretty dire. Roll on the next ge I say when most of the current crop of MPs can have another dose of public opinion - this time they won't be able to tread roughshod over it.
