"So, there we have it. Minereve rants on and on with words with zero thought behind them. No thought of the consequences of his rabid views, refuses to be questioned on them. That is very weak, shallow, childish even. If I have a view, I'll defend it against all questioning, and may change my view due to such questioning. Minereve, the great unthinker. Shallow words, that's all you get. Knows nothing of what he speaks, just follows the liberal lead."

"FFS you idiot, what part of "I have no problem with immigration" don't you understand?"

Don't you feel your views are pretty well worthless if you can't defend them?

With German inspired unlimited immigration (so answer e) into the Uk you could say goodbye to the nhs, our social and benefits system, aims to house the population and basically our complete way of life, which eventually wouldn't help the immigrants anyway.

mm2 - unchecked maybe. Not a simple issue - family size can change (refer Catholic Italy), integration impacts (having separate 'Ghettos' probably more dangerous), tax and benefit penalties on large family sizes etc.
Not an easy subject at all.
(All I would say is that the Blair view of communities within communities was totally misguided. Any absence of mixing is an issue).

'The size of the foreign-born population in the UK increased from about 5.3 million in 2004 to just under 9.4 million in 2017 (see Figure 1). During the same period the number of foreign citizens increased from nearly 3 million to about 6.2 million'

Couple of generations and its game over.

No, you did not answer the question at all. You answered different questions which weren't asked (like, ' should Merkel have said what she said'?), but that is pointless.

I'll ask for the third time,

What do you see as the upper limit, if any, of immigrants in the uk which Germany can force upon us. I'll make answer easy, just reply with a b c d etc

a 1000
b 100000
c 1000000
d 100000000
e unlimited, any number above 100million is fine.

Any 'answer' not containing a b c d or e is not an answer to the question.

Merkel was wrong to do what she did. That doesn't mean we should leave the EU.

As you know, even our own politicians speak without mandate. I'll give you an example, the ERG thinks it speaks for all LEAVERS!

WRONG! BIG FAIL!

Minerve, do you think Merkel should decide how many I immigrants we should have? If she decided on 1000, is that ok? A hundred k? A million? A hundred million?

"Agree need immigrants, we also need control of immigration to prevent our public services and infrastructure being overloaded."

It so happens that most of those immigrants actually provide the services which we demand."

I think the immigration issue is beyond the comprehension of the remoaners, as so well illustrated by Minerve. They don't seem to be able to understand democracy so they can hardly be expected to understand slightly more subtle concepts like immigration policies. The issue is about uncontrolled immigration Minerve, which doesn't mean no immigration as you keep describing, and stating as rascist. So the NHS won't fall apart, because immigrant doctors and nurses will be part of a sensible controlled policy, as will plumbers and brickies. I expect we'll also take our share of humanitarian immigrants who have no skills, but the number will be under our control and not at the whim of German politicians, who wanted in unlimited number. That would certainly destroy our NHS system.

The Conservative Manifesto got it right in 2017, so the government should stick to it

By JOHNREDWOOD | Published: FEBRUARY 24, 2019

I supported the Manifesto of 2017, as amended by the Prime Minister during the campaign. She rightly dropped the social care measures but kept the rest.
On the EU the Manifesto made a lot of sense. It said

“As we leave the EU we will no longer be members of the single market or customs union
“We believe it is necessary to agree the terms of our future partnership alongside our withdrawal, reaching agreement on both within the 2 years allowed by Article 50 of the Treaty of European Union.
“We will not bring the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights into UK law.
“We continue to believe that No deal is better than a bad deal for the UK.”

It also confirmed that we will take back “control of our laws” and “We will control immigration”. “We will pursue free trade with European markets, and secure new free trade agreements with other countries”

It is difficult to see how an MP who supported this Manifesto can support the current Withdrawal Agreement. All MPs should remember the words of the government leaflet to all households before the referendum:

“This is your decision. We will implement what you decide”

Illegal to do so, tariffs a problem too.

Any country we want major or minor whenever it suits us, compatible with freedom from the protectionist racket that is the EU.

Agree immigrants are valuable...no argument. Control of immigration and open borders the issue.

Good questions simple answers.

willoicc spot on too.
