The war seems to be the subject of the day - and as it happens, I have been reading a book about HMS Warspite, with a long section on the war in the Mediterranean.

The Italian fleet was quite simply better than ours - equally well armed but faster and more modern. Yet they threw away those advantages through timidity. Rather than engage, they sneaked into their boltholes, only to find Taranto wasn't as safe as they thought.

I think this does have relevance to the EU discussion. For the remoaners, Project Fear isn't just propaganda, it's a statement of who they are - frightened rabbits scared of their own shadows. If we listen to them we'll lose all.

I agree with LADESIDE. I would rather be run by Germany today than the US.

I like LADESIDE, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's not firing on all cylinders this morning.

But that was a strange and extremely unfortunate post of his earlier.

Germany export 800,000 cars to the UK. 22 billin Euros

France export 15 million cases of wine to te UK.

Italy sell the UK 50% of all of Prosecco the make.

Yet, a no deal Brexit ain't gonna make any difference to the EU.

Scare stories continue and most are how badly the UK are going to suffer.

Tony Blair before he sold out!!!

Can anyone remember the name of the fresh-faced young Labour lawyer who stood for election in 1983, and told the people of Sedgefield that the EEC was an anti-democratic monster that drained the economy and destroyed jobs? It was Tony Blair.

And who told the readers of the Sun on St George’s Day 1997 – as he was on the verge of becoming Prime Minister – that England’s patron saint had “a new dragon to slay”, in the form of “Europe”? Yes, it was Blair again; and before you tell me that Blair will say anything (and you would probably be right) I would remind you that plenty more principled lefties have had passionate pro-Brexit convictions.

Two faced, dishonest, war criminal, con man, liar, cheat Tony Bliar, the slimeball who now tells us how great Europe is. What has slimy been promised? what has he sold today, both his soul and his heart were sold years ago.

Champagne Tony...lock him up!!

Losing the war and being dictated to by Germany would have been a positive thing in my opinion, far better than "winning" the war and being dictated to by those odious yanks.....

Ladeside, I take it you're not a Jew. Probably not classified as a traveller. No disabilities either. I hope you have blond hair.
What a surprising and obnoxious thing to say ladeside - yet another post with zero thought.

Minerve, please could you post where I said or implied my generation won a war. I didn't. You are either too stupid to read clear text, or just a troll or both.
So as well as a pretend expert in all things computer (you're not), a pretend expert in the effects of Brexit (no one is), a pretend expert on the climate (no one is) you have now added a pretend expert in history specialising in the 2nd world war (you're not). Oh, forgot, you're an expert in house building too.

Wow, talk about overegging the omelette, you take the whole annual eu egg production and there's no omelette at all.

I'm only remaining signed up to the Tory party to have a say in who the next leader might be.

Same here.

As soon as there's a leadership contest put to the members Boris will walk it.

How can a 2 month delay possibly achieve anything?
Over and over again, all the eu leaders have said what has been agreed will not be changed under any circumstances. Take it or leave it. What would 2 more months of that achieve? The only possibility is that they want us to accept their conditions, with a ramp up of hysteria from some of our traitor MPs.

May should stick to her guns - as I think she will - and force chances to the eu position. Whatever, we should be out on 29 Mar (my wedding anniversary as it happens, a double celebration). On 1st April, we'll see some real negotiating - I fail to see why many seem to think negotiations have to stop when we leave.
