11/1/2019 18:53 | They said TM was stupid to hold that snap election, but i believe it was a deliberate ploy to scupper Brexit. | poleaxe
11/1/2019 18:26 | She'd have to resign first k38, as they've already had the confidence vote in her. Whilst I hope that she would resign, I wouldn't put money on it. This 'difficult' woman will not let go easily imho. | cheshire pete

11/1/2019 15:34 | For all those looking for comedy on the BBC, Diane Abbott is going to be on Any Questions on Radio 4 this evening. She must have recovered from the tragic long term mystery illness which forced her to step down from public appearances during the last election campaign. | lordbung
11/1/2019 15:09 | Why I believe TM will win the vote. The deal has everything for remain. But, UK will be in the mercy of Brussels paying billions without a say following the rules of bureaucrats. Nothing change for UK except losing more powers. The (useless) Labour MPs and JC will be 'arguing' up to the last minute because they want election BUT in the end a third of them will vote for with the blessing of JC. Election will come next and Labour will claim victory on TMs falling to deliver Bretix. | k38

11/1/2019 14:16 | 'The first duty of government is defence of the realm and the protection of its citizens' Yes it is, and a great job they are doing by cutting the power of the police force, scumbags rule. | mikemichael2
11/1/2019 14:09 | Just imagine a referendum to get authority to declare War. By the time it was held the enemy might well have completely obliterated the Country. The first duty of government is defence of the realm and the protection of its citizens. That falls within the purview of General Elections. The current EU problem is not a crisis in the sense that War is. | patientcapital
11/1/2019 14:05 | toon...did I say I have a problem?...or you just lurking for an argument?... | diku

11/1/2019 12:14 | Pawsche. Generally NATO and Europe are indivisible excepting some quirky political differences. USA has up to Trump been a fully committed Member. The EU on the other hand has failed to live up to its promise - politics again. Yet long term the idea still has merit imvho. We need brave politics to make it happen not the usual self-interest. | bbalanjones
11/1/2019 12:12 | Taking of Question Time...anybody know if the panel gets paid for appearance fee?...if so what is the going rate?... | diku

11/1/2019 11:55 | Good to see Theresa May reaching out to Labour MP's and trade unionists. This matter is so important a grand cross party alliance, or coalition should have been formed a long time ago. In times of great national crisis, democracy must be suspended altogether. This was done in the UK in 1935 because of a financial crises, and lasted all through the war until the general election in 1945. That was 10 years without a general election, and everyone knew that was correct. I hope there are no more referenda, maybe one last vote on Brexit. People must rely on their democratically elected leaders. there was no referendum to go to war in 1914, 0r 1939, or Iraq. Forget referenda, they muddle the democratic system. | careful
11/1/2019 11:53 | On Lloyds Bank, Deutsche Bank put a Buy on us but lowered the TP from 77p to 68p, dropped Barc TP from 243p to 202p and RBS from 300p to 276p | jpjohn1
