Polar - cheers. Hadn't looked at the earnings call. Also, wasn't sure of the date of advertising. As you say, effect should be short lived.

Agree Ekuuleus, to much dome and gloom. Like I said yesterday, I am happy to just sit back , don't panic. this will bounce back. We are fortunate we have a good dividend here, feel sorry for say investors who have RBS , no dividend, and seeing there share price dropping

BBC reporting that it's going to cost United £18m to get out of the contract with Mourinho. It definitely pays to be an unsuccessful manager!

Not really a surprise - in the Oct.25 Earnings Call with NY, Culmer said that the FCA had started another advertising campaign and it had increased claims during October. He also said that the boost quickly wears off, so my guess, is that November will come in a bit lower.

I don't sense any particular pressure on the existing provision pot at this stage.

By-the-way, I was checking up on Woodford holdings this morning. Lloyds is now completely sold from his income fund. Read into that what you wish, bear in mind he is one of the biggest UK domestic bulls and is agnostic about Brexit.

I'm sure you be interested in pages 134-5 of Prof Steve Peters excellent book "The Chimp Paradox” where he describes the following personality mindset


1 The world is a place that belongs to them and others are in THEIR world.

2 They give people a value on how they can use them to fulfil their own ambitions.

3 They dominate by believing that getting the best out of a situation means showing zero tolerance to people.

4 Compassion is seen as a weakness.

5 Others' opinions are irrelevant in most cases, as they believe their opinion is right.

6 Ignoring someone who is seen as being of little value is the best way of dealing with them.

7 Any challenges are met with hostility and aggression.

8 Any admissions to errors, or being wrong, are merely given lip service and quickly dismissed.

REMIND YOU OF ANYONE POSTING HERE?!!! I BELIEVE WE HAVE SEEN ALL OF THESE BEHAVIOURS HERE FROM A CERTAIN PERSON.

This is called an Alpha Wolf mindset.

Prof Peters goes on

"The Alpha Wolf has varying degrees of being a dictator or a control freak and genuinely believes that this is the best way forward as they are best at decision making and doing things. The people along the way are seen as weak. Popularity is never an issue as their success and ego are paramount.
