I don't think the DOW correction is over yet. On any normal measure the DOW is a bubble IMO and at some point it must correct to allow earnings to catch up. If the selling once starts it will be like a load of bricks sliding off the back of a tipper truck. I don't think the recent selling will have done investors confidence any good either and sentiment has a large part to play in driving markets.

A bumpy ride in September?

===== Covid-19 --- buywell does not think it will be a yearly jab ======

Reading many public published articles , the consensus is IMO that immunity from people that recover from Covid-19 can be as little as 2M to around 4M

Antibodies drop off very fast in the majority of recovered people after just a few weeks and at circa 3M the majority have around 10% left which then continue to drop away.

It is difficult to see any vaccine giving immunity that lasts longer than 4M IMO especially any that use previous de-activated coronaviruses or antibodies from recovered cases.

Hence any vaccine IMO will need to be administered 3 times every year

Quite how effective such a vaccine would be say after having it 5 times re the protection it gave V the first dose --- remains to be seen

As does repeated taking of the same quantity or booster doses of the same chemical compound ie long-term toxicity .

In normal times for example where a vaccine would take say 10 to 12 years to approval/ production and use --- long term toxicity issues have IMO a better chance of being spotted ie Phase 3 human trials of 1 year and longer.

This is why IMO circa 40% of the world population will be Covid-19 vaccine averse .

imo dyor

I see Aceuk is a limp wristed whining Remainer nonce!!!

Not surprised.

There is more to life than money.

Two things are far more important than money for starters:

Can you name them?

Bet you can't.

"The EU was required to negotiate in good faith and as we have seen over the last few months, that has not been the case. The EU’s position has been to threaten the UK negotiating side at every opportunity in order to get them to cave in to Brussels demands. This clearly demonstrates a lack of best endeavours.

Brussels threatened to block GB to NI food exports: This was revealed last night when the Sun published an exclusive outlining how we ended up here. They say that Brussels threatened to block British food exports to Northern Ireland as negotiating leverage, but the power play backfired and enraged the UK side enough for them to trigger their bombshell bid to make legal changes to the Withdrawal Agreement"

And that, in a nutshell , is why this "alleged International treaty" shrieking is utter drivel..

WA ends 31st December - whether we have a deal, or not.

So given it's 9th September, and no deal looking likely , it is highly prudent to make alternative arrangements that dont fit snug with WA.

Aceuk

I'm sorry to hear that again Ace.

Hopefully someone within your family, perhaps those you care most dearly for like sons & daughters, are witness to what has happened. Take fortitude from the fact that your legacy to them which truly matters the most, that is the passing on of strong moral values and character, is strengthened and not weakened by the actions of lesser men towards you. :)

nothing is done in hurry
The Police in England / heddlu in Wales have been gagging for the powers to fine ppl.
now they have them.
Respect has gone - and there will be civil disobedience.
police could not cope with Er/XR and got what they wanted.
It is a pity that the Police have no pension fund - pensions funded by current contributions -retire at 55 why? and deficits are charged to Council tax.
just like the teachers - they work the same way.
WE PAY.
So we can expect to be stopped on regular basis.

Downing Street’s latest attempt to explain its breach of international law — that Mr Johnson did not fully understand what he was agreeing in his deal with the EU last October — is unlikely to impress fellow leaders. “The treaty was written in a rush and was never meant to be the final agreed text between the UK and the EU,” Number 10 said.

Simply disgraceful. Nothing else to say.

Test of my now somewhat aged resilience Minerve - would not have chosen this and it has not been easy at all. I now know how people end up rough-sleeping - I became a non-person, I had no rights at work or home. I am utterly amazed how easy it is to get abandoned by authority and the system and then how difficult it is to re-engage.

.... am sure authority would have taken notice pretty quick if I had gone through Birmingham on the M6 at 150 mph during lock-down!

Talk about leaving wakes of distruction behind you. And the gammons chose this man as our leader?

It just goes to show how many are simply out of their depth in judgement and reality.
