Free trade or no deal! It's no point to extend the transition period if they demand to continue control us. In the end, an extension will only cost us more money and risking more money on bailouts of the European banks. They only care about power, control and money. This virus prove that Brussels are not Europe but a cancer for Europe. .If you offer your opinion accept the oppositions too.

From CDC.

People with flu are most contagious in the first three to four days after their illness begins.

Most healthy adults may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 5 to 7 days after becoming sick.

Children and some people with weakened immune systems may pass the virus for longer than 7 days.

Symptoms can begin about 2 days (but can range from 1 to 4 days) after the virus enters the body. That means that you may be able to pass on the flu to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick.

Some people can be infected with the flu virus but have no symptoms. During this time, those people may still spread the virus to others.

Period of Contagiousness

You may be able to pass on flu to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick.

People with flu are most contagious in the first 3-4 days after their illness begins.

Some otherwise healthy adults may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 5 to 7 days after becoming sick.

Some people, especially young children and people with weakened immune systems, might be able to infect others with flu viruses for an even longer time."

I don't care if the transition is for two years, as long as we don't have to pay for the rotten to the core Banks in the EU zone, they will be pushing us to take past in the bail -out for sure.

Cyprus anyone

Move away from the virus to the Transition period.

Cold logic says that any deal within the next two+ months is most improbable and therefore another approach eg extension is required.
Cold logic and I am sure most on this thread would have an immediate emotional reaction - partly because I am the poster.

Will chaos resume or will the two approaches co-exist.

Your guess is as good as mine.

PO - both approaches can co-exist.

Cold logic would come up with a solution (I am mostly in this camp). That solution might appear unpalatable to many so another proposition is put forward based upon the emotion. However the issue and the solutions have to be transparent.

Ut - you posted 'crashing the economy' from a domestic view. However most other economies are also crashing at the same time which would indicate a conspiracy theory - hence eg Bilderberg.
What did you mean? Too deep for a Sunday?

utrick,

Yeah but the press go to town when an unfortunate 6 year old dies. Most simply carry on saying 'see, it's nothing to do with age, it can kill anyone'. I bet at least one or two will say that here within a few days. (tbc, first bit is incorrect, second bit is correct).

Data presented out of context and appealing to emotions can be probably the most powerful influential tool.

Data presented in context is far less alarmist and has little emotional appeal (therefore not much use to those who like to control things).

Overwhelmingly this disease is killing the elderly & in particular those receiving nursing care in hospital OR residential nursing homes. The irony is that the future prospects of our youngsters are being compromised to safeguard the survival prospects of in many cases people who would want nothing more than an aggressive dose of China flu to end their misery.
I think theres more to this than flattening the curve for the NHS, crashing the economy will ensure the next drivers of the economy are more compliant & have less choice.
