GS, it's happened, we have to accept it. 17p is better than 10p,11p,12p.

What's the alternative?

Agree G-S a very disappointing outcome for the short term for KDD holders. At least we will be part of an enlarged group without the awful management, and can look forward to considerable long term gains with FDI providing strong diamond mining qualities.

Induna, it's a truly dreadful outcome - robbed

Looks like we still have a few sellers to flush out. I get the feeling once they've finished and people accept this is probably a good a deal as were likely to get we should start to move up. May take a few days though.

Noticed a 500k trade yesterday at 12.75p. Would that be a rollover or a big buyer mopping up?

I presume Frank will have to unwind his spreadbet?

edit - I mean his brokers.

KDR, thats the way to do it, released this AM, deal with RIO

Basically FDI have bought a company here with massive resource for 50 mil, keep hold of the shares

I shall certainly6 be voting in favour. Although no immediate profit for me, I would much prefer to hold Firestone shares than Kopane, especially if it means seeing the last of Frank and colleagues, and will hope eventually to recover my losses - and perhaps even make a gain?

Frank makes up 16% of that total, who are the other 20%?

I came across this article;

It states that they have investor approval to 36%.

yep good for FDI. Not the 'shareholder value' the company have kept banging on about for ages

Whats to stop FDI getting the MOU partner back in to help fund the development, thats what I would be doing.

Steal the asset for a low ball paper consideration and then get somebody in who already wants to inject cash in to get you to production.

Yep that was valued at around 27p in Jan the market reaction traded share price to over 15p. If the MOU was then progressed and signed off with mining underway then probably looking around 20p anyway mid 2010.

I believe it has been mentioned they are not the party involved in t/o so why not counter bid for the whole stake at a discount?

Adam -

"Why have KDD not done this themselves?

Mining license granted, power, water financed or available so what is the catch? "

Agree with parsnip 195%

The current management have had only one interest since they took the driving seat - to sell Kopane on at the max they could get for it. Everything else has been shelved, including resumption of mining and the DFS.

Frank - what do you reckon the chances are of others voting this down?

I know you ain't a mindreader, but what's your gut feeling?

The catch is that the CEO is a trader and not a miner, and is happy to make his 300-400%.

The PFS of July 2007 gave capex at $100m and 3.5m tpa

Firestone quote 4m tpa, and state can do capex cheaper.

We await DFS to confirmm, but say in three years also inflation, so say 50% higher at $150m capex to be conservative?

Firestone state in their presentation that can expect $70m p.a operating cash flow (based on $29/t and operating cost of $12/t)

Should be able to justify $350m+ valuation alone

IRR is very high and we can assume easily financeable after DFS published.

Why have KDD not done this themselves?

Mining license granted, power, water financed or available so what is the catch?

aye - some good posts today.

I'm very disappointed, but if the "merger" happens then i'll carry on holding and hopefully see the true value out.

I have already spoken to Barclays and indicated that I want to vote.
