I know very few people who voted Remain who are uncritical supporters
of the EU. Many concluded staying in, on balance, was better.

Those most passionate on Leave or Remain make the most noise.

I definitely haven't got your lifestyle, no. I get up before 11am. I don't think going for breakfast at Bill's is a treat. I get paid a lot of money to travel all over the world 'working'. So yes it's very different to you. Why is it a failed experiment? Ask a Greek millennial! Spend a few days in Paris or Rome or Rotterdam and have a chat with the locals! Then visit Budapest or Poland and watch the marches...and then tell me again it's all working out well in Europe.

Why is it a failed experiment?

Please can you detail the criteria that was used to assess its failure. Thanks in advance. :)

Get yourself down to Chartwell and read Churchill's personal letters from 1939 to 1950 that are on public display. Churchill would laugh at your capitulation to the EU and your lack of confidence in the UK making a success of itself without being shackled to a bloated and failed experiment.

I am amused that people think that a second referendum will 'kill peoples faith in democracy'

What planet are you on, there is very little faith in democracy now.

Little now.

But 2nd reffy will kill what little there is left.
Some people do still think we have democracy in this country fyi...but their numbers decline by the day

How can you kill democracy by having another referendum? You are killing democracy by intimidating and shouting down those that ask for it.

Well, business will not like it buywell. As serious investors we shouldn't like it too. As for the market, who knows, chimps a plenty. I guess if there weren't chimps opportunities wouldn't arise. Can't live with them, can't live without them.

I may have got this wrong. Looking at European Union Withdrawal Act it seems that @theresa_may could keep the current talks with EU going well passed 21 Jan, perhaps right up to Brexit day 29 March, and avoid any parliamentary Brexit vote. @YvetteCooperMP understandably concerned

Brexit could now get kicked into the long grass for 1 to 2 years with Article 50 revoked by May

Do you think markets will like this ?

Although you would like to revel in my misfortune I think your hope is rather misplaced. I've had some very good portfolio holdings over the last couple of years which are there for all to see on the relevant threads. Astrazeneca, Burford, Abbvie, Boeing, United Technologies, Eli Lilly, British American Tobacco, Reynolds American, Drax, GKN etc.. etc.. etc..

UK domestics I'm buying because they are extremely cheap. I trust that you will not be buying any UK domestics over the next 18 months. Please confirm so I can prove you are a dunderhead YET AGAIN in 18 months' time. :)

People who invest against Minerve usually lose. Go to the BT, RMG, Burford, GSK, WPCT threads and have a look. It is all there, including the whiff of gin which I am currently enjoying! LOL

No matter what the Brexit idiots say, democracy IS a process. If it wasn't a process we would have one general election and that would be it, ad infinitum. Democracy allows opposition and that opposition is allowed to express its voice and to attempt to achieve its objectives via the democratic process. If the Brexit idiots want Hard Brexit then it is up to them to vote in a Hard Brexit government. Don't rely on intelligent Remainers to help you in UK hara-kiri. The referendum was over two years' ago. Many voters have passed away and many are now able to vote. We all know much more about the EU than we did then - or at least we should do. Mature and sensible people would not try to block a second referendum. Those who believe in democracy should allow democracy its full course. If your project fails, perhaps that should indicate to you that the objective was a failed one to begin with. Brexit = Fail.

Minerve is having a disastrous few years. Referendum went against him because he underestimated the people's ability to see through the lies on the government leaflet and all the forecasts from the Treasury, the BofE, the IMF etc etc. Then, inexplicably, he buys a load of UK focussed cyclicals despite stating his main aim is 'wealth preservation'! Very poor judgement! No wonder he hits the bottle every day...

60% of people now want a second (final) referendum.
latest polls.

Evidence?

when will brexiteers grasp the fact that it was 17.4m vs 16.3m.
..but there will not be 17.4m angry voters left.

Why? What's happened to them?

many of those 17.4m will welcome the chance to reverse that decision.
they were scammed and lied to.

Evidence?
More Remainers switched than Leavers. And most Remainers respect democracy - for they know if this Brexit vote isnt implemented democracy falls, the civil contract gets torn up, and the problems in London go national, and more bitter than a couple of gangs engaging in vendettas...

That what you want? Just to get you away AGAIN, as you have for 41 years.

Not half s much as we were lied to in 1975 either!

They will angry and lose faith in democracy if they are not given a chance to reverse their mistake and the 15 million that did not bother to vote will do so next time.

Only way people will lose faith in democracy is if Brexit is overturned before it has even been implemented you'll find

The last referendum was like asking millions of 10 year olds to decide our future. So little did any of us no about it.
Next time we will know a lot more.

Yes you could argue that about the 18-28 bracket but not about the 50+bracket many of whom voted Remain in 1975 and now change their mind because they see how badly we were lied to by Heath and co.

As to knowing little, speak for yourself. Most leavers have been denied a say for 30-41 years (You were noticeably quiet about such a denial of any say!!) and have patiently waited for a chance to say NO.
