If excess shares available, that means the ii didn't take it up and relying on the pi's to get sucked in, in desperation, if a superb investment the II's wouldn't have left anything

Big profits!

I sold shares after the record date for 112.2p and bought slightly more back at 85p. That is 27.2p a share profit. They are now worth 114.4p I bought the shares earlier in the year for 90p so I have now got shares which if I sold them this week would give me a total profit of 27.2 + 24.4 = 51.6p or approximately 57% and that in less than 6 months.

The reason Costain is struggling to break 60p is because it issued 145 percent more shares at that price 12 months ago.Kier are about to issue 175 percent more shares at 85p. No prizes for guessing what share price Kier is likely to struggle to break for the next year.If Kier didn't issue all these shares they would be bust. I seriously don't understand the euphoria on here. This has been and remains a extremely poor investment.

Oversubscribed, and if my brokers have done their jobs right, I should be getting a very useful chunk of excess app shares at 85p. So far, looking very good for my holding and for the business in terms of cash raised -- nothing left with the underwriters.

82% uptake of the Open Offer shares.Excess applications for 28% of the Open Offer shares. That gives enough to meet ~64% of the excess applications.

More rubbish from the one-month-old newbie. The shorters are not hiding out of sight; they are nowhere in sight because no sensible hedge fund would short Kier now -- the share price is in recovery. Two years ago this was the most shorted share on the stock exchange; hedgies weren't shy then, and they wouldn't be now. The share price has increased 300% since November and now that the business is recapitalised, likely to treble in price on a load of outcomes, including decent second half results. A forward p/e of 10 is the next easily achievable target imv; over £3. Entry to the FTSE 250 will also create a lot of momentum here and we are about to start the run-up to that.

Later today we are likely to learn how much of the new share issue became available in the 'excess application'. If this is a very small amount, there will be a lot of existing Kier shareholders with money on the sidelines thinking about buying Kier while it is still in the low £1. There are already a load of investors who are not invested in Kier and who have seen its well publicised recapitalisation and recovery -- they will also buy in once the new shares begin trading. Any dip is a buying opportunity for a great many people now.

I wouldn't be surprised if the shorters are quietly getting in, to drive the price down, the shorters are hovering just below the .5% trigger, they have to be careful as it would be not seen favourable by the government, if they were to force kier out of business, but they as a financial tool are able to make money, as long as they don't push too much, results after the end of the month and the euphoria of the equity raise, the true level will be realised, I'm expecting that roughly a bit lower than yesterday's open, the share price will fluctuate, but will get going when dividends will be reinstated, whenever that will be.

stdyeddy, what makes you say 10am?
The prospectus just says 15 June 2021 and doesn't give a time.
I was imagining either before open or after close.

More volume than we have seen since 17th May. Though 70% of came from this interesting looking series of trades:

I say interesting as they stood out on the volume plot as a steady ramp up and the price stayed steady until a bit more than an hour later.

Main index flat, dow down 0.75%, but our volume is doubled and up 2.2%. Looking good ahead of the sign-off on the equity raise. Announcement of the result of the open offer tomorrow at 10am. Looks to me like it may have been massively oversubscribed and a very limited amount coming through on the excess applications.

Wally migrated to the other thread?
15 firms in Admin in May according to Construction news.. Note Wally! Kier not one of them.
Maybe pop over to COST board and tell them why their investment is stagnant?
They could do with a boost.
Note to all posters , if Wally starts posting regularly on COST, sell the wife and the house and pile in.

I swapped from II last August as their service has been woeful since they took over from TD Waterhouse. Now with HL, very switched on, If you don't get any joy with II have a word with the FCA, try mentioning that you are going to take it to them and see what response you get from II
