2 large buys late on Friday of just over 2.1M shares and then another of just over 1.7M shares. Were the buyers FTSE 250 tracker funds or someone else?

Post stabilisation notice RNS , for the £250mn at 9%, some of which has already been used to lessen month end debt , increased overall debt pile at higher rate , just for an accountancy figure to make month end debt look less ,

I keep seeing this broker upgrade without much detail:

'Kier Group plc 47.3% potential upside indicated by Berenberg Bank'

If anyone has the actual 'guidance' or whatever it is, I'd like to see it.
Apparently Berenberg has upped its target for Kier to £2.10.

On Monday Kier officially enters the FTSE250. Let's see what that does for the share price

just seen this announcement for the A66. kier is already one of the three partners on this £1.3bn project with a planned opening for 2029. a major deal and kier's share (maybe £400m, maybe more?) is perhaps worth about 10% of its annual turnover. great piece of work.

The Government finally has granted development consent for the £1.3bn A66 Northern Trans-Pennine dualling.

Large spread here this morning keeping the day traders at bay. Filled their boots yesterday resulting in a disappointing end to the day for us long term holders.

if you want to know where kier's future contracts are coming from, take a look at slide 35 of the results presentation from yesterday.

kier came in 4th in February on the contract winning table run by construction enquirer and is 2nd overall biggest contract value winner for the rolling 12 months. it's the size and consistent contract winning performance that makes this company a strong performer. avg contract size is only £20m. hundreds of contracts means low risk exposure overall.

is it even worth answering your bilge bathboy? you've been doom-mongering here since it was 50p. pretty amazing record you have for being wrong, like 100%. funny how you never want to admit it. avg monthly debt is very small now, nothing like the number you're claiming.

So winning contracts is bad, according to you? Maybe you should look at kier's profit and cash generation. turnover is still growing and the order book will soon be £11bn. business has good net cash at the H1 end, and will have a lot more at yr end because cash flows reverse in kier's second half and flow in from contract revenue rather than out for project delivery.

Interesting in building magazine, that GT stating that they are another firm with month end cash pile and won't chase turnover , this is in total contrast to what is Kier's situation, taken on extra long term debt, now approx 511mn , to pay down month end debt , and is chasing turnover, while the margins are dropping , it is a good turnaround, but I'm not sure it can be sustained, lots of contracts, still being put on hold .

wally-bathboy, you just couldn't bear to see yourself being disparaged. If you had an ounce of honesty you'd admit that you were wrong about kier, doom-mongering on here pointlessly for years without any investment position. everything you've written is nonsense, including yr comments just now.

Is nobody concerned that margins have fallen , unless you have multiple 1000s of shares the dividend is practically worthless , you might get a cup of tea, and the only reason , month end debt has changed is they taken on long term debt elsewhere at 9%,

Good to see you still around John. As we always said, the 'wet wipe' was totally wrong. It has been a very long road though. Slow and steady seems to be the way.

As far as today's rise is concerned, it looks to me like this will continue to be a steady rise over the next few days, and with any luck will join up with the tailwind from Kier's official entry into the FTSE250 on the 18th. The business is still rated at a fwd p/e of less than 5 AND now pays a dividend and looks hugely cheap by almost any standard, so if there's any justice in the investment world -- of course there isn't, it's all insider trading -- we should see 150p and beyond very soon.

One ironic point today though; at the moment that I write this, Costain has gone up higher on Kier's results than Kier has! I wish our friends on the COST thread the very best, especially since I joined them on the dip last week with a small position myself.

Just checing in LOL. Where is that wet wipe Wally.
Keep flying the flag Eddy. I new this would come good, even during the dark days of 58p with that cretin calling for them to be wound down.

Very strong buying here this morning -- over a million in the first 30 minutes. This is looking like a very big day here today.

Hezza, judging by the volumes we've seen over the last fortnight, I'd say the tracker funds have not bought yet and that they'll do it when the reshuffle formally happens, which is on the 18th (Monday week) apparently.

Lovely reaction here today.
More to come here IMO.
Plus keep an eye on Costain RNS next week.
They got almost as much money in cash in the bank as their entire market capital. Go figure???

(Costain got rival takeover it or PE buyout written all over it IMO. Time will tell)
