08/3/2024 14:18 | Yeahhh I thought that when I loaded the JISAs with Kier and Hollywood Bowl Kids think I am a genius...........if only they knew the truth :) | marksp2011
08/3/2024 10:10 | Large spread here this morning keeping the day traders at bay. Filled their boots yesterday resulting in a disappointing end to the day for us long term holders. | pric9447
08/3/2024 10:03 | classic recovery stock .. | undervaluedassets
08/3/2024 08:37 | if you want to know where kier's future contracts are coming from, take a look at slide 35 of the results presentation from yesterday. UK Government Spending Commitments UK National Infrastructure Strategy – commitment to spend £770bn over next 10 years | itisonlymoney
08/3/2024 08:30 | kier came in 4th in February on the contract winning table run by construction enquirer and is 2nd overall biggest contract value winner for the rolling 12 months. it's the size and consistent contract winning performance that makes this company a strong performer. avg contract size is only £20m. hundreds of contracts means low risk exposure overall. | itisonlymoney
08/3/2024 08:20 | is it even worth answering your bilge bathboy? you've been doom-mongering here since it was 50p. pretty amazing record you have for being wrong, like 100%. funny how you never want to admit it. avg monthly debt is very small now, nothing like the number you're claiming. So winning contracts is bad, according to you? Maybe you should look at kier's profit and cash generation. turnover is still growing and the order book will soon be £11bn. business has good net cash at the H1 end, and will have a lot more at yr end because cash flows reverse in kier's second half and flow in from contract revenue rather than out for project delivery. | itisonlymoney
08/3/2024 03:57 | Interesting in building magazine, that GT stating that they are another firm with month end cash pile and won't chase turnover , this is in total contrast to what is Kier's situation, taken on extra long term debt, now approx 511mn , to pay down month end debt , and is chasing turnover, while the margins are dropping , it is a good turnaround, but I'm not sure it can be sustained, lots of contracts, still being put on hold . | bathboy2
07/3/2024 23:44 | Kier to pay first dividend in five years as firm cuts debt pile further | itisonlymoney
07/3/2024 15:57 | wally-bathboy, you just couldn't bear to see yourself being disparaged. If you had an ounce of honesty you'd admit that you were wrong about kier, doom-mongering on here pointlessly for years without any investment position. everything you've written is nonsense, including yr comments just now. | itisonlymoney
07/3/2024 15:42 | Is nobody concerned that margins have fallen , unless you have multiple 1000s of shares the dividend is practically worthless , you might get a cup of tea, and the only reason , month end debt has changed is they taken on long term debt elsewhere at 9%, | bathboy2
07/3/2024 14:28 | Good to see you still around John. As we always said, the 'wet wipe' was totally wrong. It has been a very long road though. Slow and steady seems to be the way. As far as today's rise is concerned, it looks to me like this will continue to be a steady rise over the next few days, and with any luck will join up with the tailwind from Kier's official entry into the FTSE250 on the 18th. The business is still rated at a fwd p/e of less than 5 AND now pays a dividend and looks hugely cheap by almost any standard, so if there's any justice in the investment world -- of course there isn't, it's all insider trading -- we should see 150p and beyond very soon. One ironic point today though; at the moment that I write this, Costain has gone up higher on Kier's results than Kier has! I wish our friends on the COST thread the very best, especially since I joined them on the dip last week with a small position myself. | stdyeddy
07/3/2024 09:15 | Just checing in LOL. Where is that wet wipe Wally. Keep flying the flag Eddy. I new this would come good, even during the dark days of 58p with that cretin calling for them to be wound down. | johnbuythedips
07/3/2024 08:50 | Are those the strongest interim profits since 2007 ? I think that they might be. Ready to stand corrected.. looking at where the shareprice was in 2007... well | weemonkey
07/3/2024 08:35 | Very strong buying here this morning -- over a million in the first 30 minutes. This is looking like a very big day here today. Hezza, judging by the volumes we've seen over the last fortnight, I'd say the tracker funds have not bought yet and that they'll do it when the reshuffle formally happens, which is on the 18th (Monday week) apparently. | stdyeddy
07/3/2024 08:30 | And yes. I own both ;) | hamhamham1
07/3/2024 08:30 | Lovely reaction here today. More to come here IMO. Plus keep an eye on Costain RNS next week. They got almost as much money in cash in the bank as their entire market capital. Go figure??? (Costain got rival takeover it or PE buyout written all over it IMO. Time will tell) | hamhamham1
07/3/2024 08:27 | Do the FTSE 250 tracker funds normally start building positions pre-inclusion or do they have to wait until 18th March? Presumably income tracker funds will also have to increase positions given dividend resumption. | hezza123
07/3/2024 08:18 | sp is off like a greyhound -- another big break-out. I wonder if we will see 150p today. | stdyeddy
07/3/2024 08:15 | Order book continues to grow -- almost £11bn now. Shares STILL at a depressed level. I presume the interim divi is one third of the expected full year, so potentially about 5p which would be about 3.7% on this growth share -- a good start. | stdyeddy
07/3/2024 08:13 | the margin news is the best bit. sensible margins have to be the way forward Rolls Royce have benefitted from seeing margins double No-one benefits if you are working for nothing As the margin has more than tripled since 2021 interims perhaps the stock will perform in a similar fashion.. We will see... | undervaluedassets
07/3/2024 08:10 | Should be a strong day for the share price Press so far. Kier reinstates dividend after strong profit growth Strong trading at Kier in the first six months of the year saw the contractor reinstate dividend payments for the first time in five years and slash its average monthly net debt by over £100m. | stdyeddy
07/3/2024 08:02 | Great results, no surprises. profit for 6 months is £64.7m so running at £130m a yr. market cap of £600m so a fwd price/earnings ratio of about 4.5 the share price should be double that! | itisonlymoney
07/3/2024 07:48 | IMO, an excellent report and performance. The leadership teams are performing well and it is good to see thay are back to winning ways after some years of loosing its way. In construction, while you have to retain your key staff during lean times, "buying" work for low or negaitive margins usually ends in tears. | johnrxx99
07/3/2024 07:47 | Typo Rerated | thebears1
07/3/2024 07:45 | It's all going the right way and still very cheapShould be repeated at some point | thebears1 |
