First half audited results are published this Thursday. Also expecting announcement of resumption of the dividend after five long years. Plus the FTSE250 reshuffle happens next week on the 18th and Kier joins the index. Should be a good fortnight for the shares.

Incredibly, the shares and market cap are still only at a fwd p/e ratio of 5.

They haven't 'canned' a project. I think you should make it clear that the council intend continuing with the contract. Here's the part that makes it clear:

In the meantime, Kier continues to carry out the highways contract under an extended version of its previous contract.

A council spokesperson said: “Our main priority remains the continued delivery of statutory highway functions and services across the city, ensuring the safety of citizens and visitors across the network.”

A spokesperson for the DfT said: “The government has already confirmed that it will maintain the current level of local highways maintenance funding for Birmingham City Council for the remainder of the spending review, so funding will not be reduced over this period.

“We have also confirmed over £151m in additional funding specifically for the West Midlands Combined Authority to deliver smoother, safer local roads, as part of our £8.3bn Network North pledge thanks to savings from HS2.”


Btw 'stutes' the big news this week about kier - the firm is rejoining the FTSE250. that means that FTSE250 tracker funds will be buying the shares after selling out five years ago. the share price will be going up.

It's a leap year. One more day to go for month end? It's looking like we will storm into the ftse250 about a fifth of the way up the index. Prices in the table below are a few days old at the moment.

on the cusp. volume is building. a million shares bought this afternoon. probably hit 2 million at end of day.

We are at a multi-year high and the volume isn't there yet. Watch the UT after the close and post-close buying. There might be some volume waiting in the wings.
