03/12/2020 10:50 | I don't think the market was valuing it correctly at 3 quid..but I was clinging on for life let alone buying some.. lol | snorkelparker
03/12/2020 10:36 | "... I am interested when the market fails to value a company correctly". Twice you had the opportunity during 2020. One was at the top of the mountain (short opp) and the other one was at the bottom (long opp). Don't think folks will get another major opportunity (compared with 2020's phenomenal ones) in JET2 shares anytime soon. | tongosti
03/12/2020 10:11 | yep Tiger reads pretty grim..but many are looking beyond that to a more dominant position in the UK package business..a lot more brand awareness after handling refunds better than others ..I have been selling down as worries about the whole vaccine situation .. where will you consider yourself a buyer? | snorkelparker
03/12/2020 10:01 | I said I valued the shares that way. The market is a price buyers and sellers are prepared to pay/sell. As I have said many times how I value the company is all that matters to me. 2.5b valuation for a company with a sales reduction of 90% in its busiest half of the year and winter losses that may exceed 400m plus a depreciation charge on a 3b fleet of aircraft that are a year older and so worth less. With little forward visibility and everything pinned on a vaccine that can take many months to roll out I am not surprised to see downgrades coming thick and fast foe Easy and Wizz as well as RYAN. I am not a shorter but someone may be tempted. I am interested when the market fails to value a company correctly. Like TND/MPAC/RBN/MFX/HSP those are situations in which to make money by my style of trading. tiger | castleford tiger
03/12/2020 09:12 | Seems this is the day when sellers are really cashing in. Volumes way above average levels and it's still very early doors. | tongosti
03/12/2020 08:52 | Yes - I agree a raise around this levels would be a smart business move. Glad you can see again what Mr Market is capable of - only two months ago you said that it would take about 3 years for the share price to go to £13 as fundamentals did not warrant it. It only took a few weeks! | tongosti
02/12/2020 23:01 | 600 to 1500 in 3 months. I would not be surprised to see a further cash raising placing at this level to repair the balance sheet. The banks forced the last one through but what harm could it do to tap up current holders? Winter looks a write off but the government are picking up most of the staff costs. I have had 2 ski flights cancelled. I think the new year in April should be the start of an improvement . 30% issue to raise 700 m would transform the balance sheet. Tiger | castleford tiger
02/12/2020 11:03 | Thanks Snorkel. Jet2 shares are looking much, much better than they were in March so give yourself a pat at the back so well done pal. The overwhelming majority who have made a habit of playing macho with markets got burned heavily on this one (they blame it on poor luck of course as opposed to them not having a risk management framework in place) and with you managing to avoid all that, it is a major achievement! Re the next path of least resistance - we are indeed in very stretched territory (2 to 5 day rolling return distributions are very heavily skewed from a historical perspective, at this juncture) but once we digest the stunning recent rise, my hunch is still on one final exhaustion move. Naturally, not much upside left. One day at the time so for the moment, happy to sit it all out and switch into cash. | tongosti
02/12/2020 10:47 | Wish I hadn't looked, but it's a lot better than earlier on in the year :-) | snorkelparker
02/12/2020 10:45 | Yep a few went at 15..but bought back at 14.7 so not much of a gain. Now wait for the next move which I think is down. Nice work Tong still down on dart for the year I think will have look back at what I started the year at. | snorkelparker
02/12/2020 10:26 | Covered the rest as well. Not liking price action off the 1500 level. +125% and change with still a few weeks to go till the year end. | tongosti
02/12/2020 09:14 | Cashed in about fifth of the original position with only half of it left running. With trailing stop raised v meaningfully it's happy days now. +123% ytd account contribution while still having a decent exposure in open play. | tongosti
02/12/2020 08:20 | Our dear friend tiger and someone else were laughing (for a change) a few days back on my £15 target. There you go chaps. What a morning action! | tongosti
01/12/2020 19:04 | Today we closed at the highest price since ... 20 Feb 2020 folks. What a year this has been for JET2 shares. | tongosti
01/12/2020 10:03 | Cashed in a third of my position. 2/3 left with zero risk at play now. | tongosti
01/12/2020 09:22 | Morning gents - back in the day similar price behaviour would have attracted a zillion bullish posts. This has been THE year of opportunity (for bulls+bears) in making money in JET2 shares. On the bull side alone we're +600% up from those 200p lows. What a glorious (unfortunately, missed from the average player) opportunity it has been and how very, very few genuine value investors are around. | tongosti
30/11/2020 20:44 | Festario, stick to investing. | donald t
30/11/2020 17:08 | We've just had a decorator in.... turns out that he's actually a British Airways pilot on furlough....!He did a great job of the landing. | festario
30/11/2020 12:46 | We all need a bit of luck here and there mate - yes been fortunate with this one. Added again and with my stop firmly raised further now let's see how much mileage this baby will have in it now... | tongosti
30/11/2020 12:38 | Tong you getting it right so far fella .. | snorkelparker
30/11/2020 10:37 | Can't fault your logic on both - makes a lot of sense. You maybe aware that switching to cash when I am not that confident is my favourite strategy as well so thumbs up to that. Re my current JET2 play - I am perfectly aware that I am speculating on that final spike (I fully agree risk reward is far far less generous than it was as recently as last month and that we find ourselves in the final inning of the move) but with my stops pulled even closer I am now risking much less than on initiation. Effectively I have added once but my risk has gone down. Hence my inclination to add one last time if we move above 1430. Again, well done on saga and good luck - sure as day we will get a good few more opportunities sooner rather than later. | tongosti
30/11/2020 10:22 | Best for us is a pull back close to your stops ..I can load up and both enjoy the next ride ..if I miss this next one without a bigger position so be it. With Saga despite the recent talk it has been a company that has destroyed shareholder value over a protracted period. It may well be more undervalued than Jet2 but as a company it cant hold a candle to Jet2. Hence just winding my neck in on that one ..100k in the bin was a nice pre xmass bonus :) | snorkelparker
30/11/2020 10:16 | Snorkel - well done pal. You have made +100% in less then three weeks there which is a v rare feat. As you know, I made almost nothing there as got out way earlier. My rationale at the time (on top of the then price action on saga) was that playing JET2 was enough to proxy the C19 affected stocks staging a come back post Pfizer vaccine news. | tongosti |
