15/11/2020 16:18 | Festario - you're very kind pal, thank you. I always try to anticipate the next line of least resistance frequently assigning odds to both sides of the market. More often than not, it challenges me to go against prevailing consensus and over time I have learned this is (for me anyway) the only way how I can make a few shekels here and there, fairly consistently. It is a never-ending journey though and am always learning (which in this business is paid with cold hard cash!) new things. Good start of the week tomorrow and let's see where Jet2 takes us next. | tongosti
15/11/2020 15:07 | Tongosti, you really are rather good at this.It has to be said that you consistently stated, around the 700p level, that 900p would come, followed quickly by 1000p, then on to 1300p, which it duly did.The wind in it's sales to get it to this high point came from the Pfizer vaccine announcement, but it was heading there in its own good time anyway.I take my hat off to you Sir. | festario
15/11/2020 13:09 | Snorkel We may get one more low-ish risk entry point - if we break current highs - but on the firm premise that SL will need to hold at last Friday’s low. If so, that should give you about 200p+ potential upside with downside being about 160 points. Clearly, a 1.25RR is a marginally better trade than a 1RR but as I said earlier, RR deteriorates sharply the further up we move into space (that is why I was a much bigger fan at 800 as RR was at sitting at about 2-ish area then - a fairly rare occurrence in this game). With sector rotation now favouring those sectors (hence institutional money is flowing accordingly) that benefit from a post C19 world, the tailwind should favour for a tad longer the likes of Jet2. This is crucial because it is institutional flows that help send stocks soaring due to institutional huge volume footprints. P.S. I wouldn't be surprised even at us touching all time highs in short order (precisely on institutional sector rotation grounds - definitely not on fundamental ones). If so - and on the assumption (big if!) that we may find ourselves in the fortunate position to be in the market then - then trailing stops closely should be the target with the view to exploiting the proverbial "irrational exuberance" phenomenon Greenspan once coined. | tongosti
14/11/2020 15:30 | They’re certainly taking it seriously in Tenerife. Put us to shame actually. Went for walk this morning and they all observe the mask wearing even when walking | scottish007
13/11/2020 18:52 | ... and I see that the Canarian Govt have tightened up restrictions even more!Bars and restaurants further restricted to a third of occupants, no smoking even outside, shut by 11pm ... etc etc...I'm supposed to be in Tenerife for the month of November... I'm glad I got cancelled. | festario
13/11/2020 16:08 | Snorkel Good luck with your latest purchase pal. The message we get from volumes is that there is a huge demand-supply imbalance otherwise we would have come down in a hurry from such highs. Yes - Bristol is a big thing plus vaccine related news which helped put the fire under the market. As I have said before, the market is looking way past current numbers and is confidently saying that Jet2 will become an even bigger player in the holiday space, once we return to normality. Having said all that, the further up we go up the further the risk reward profile deteriorates (as we are increasingly discounting the future). In this sense, I agree with Tiger that we are on shakier grounds (strictly on fundamental visibility) but markets never peak on fundamental readings but rather on crowd perceptions re (future) fundamentals. Future market position of JET2 together with the end of C19 being in sight is a tailwind which can help folks enthusiastically push the stock price to £15, in my view. If past that, then it will be very tricky to hold Jet2 shares longer term with a high degree of conviction but we can cross the bridge (if and) when we get there. As you know I do not buy and hold long term but I do realise that most people (and institutions) do, hence I am always very aware of longer term implications (as I need to understand how the majority of players may think, for obvious reasons). Good weekend. | tongosti
13/11/2020 13:14 | Tong, interesting observation.. bought at 11.65 a little nibble thinking that it would go further.. expect further pharma companies to announce their vaccines success soon. will this add enough for a further hike up.. or do some people know that the 6 month numbers are going to be supportive ?... The Bristol base to me really suggests they are seeing huge opportunity as this passes and setting up for that number one spot. | snorkelparker
13/11/2020 12:15 | V impressive the way we're holding up. Even after such a massive rise price holding up quite well. Volumes have disappeared during the consolidation period which seems to suggest that there is no such thing as willing sellers in the background. Covered yesterday but keen to re-initiate if and when things get moving again. | tongosti
12/11/2020 10:56 | Iag a better bet than this, iag will double/triple over next three years. | porsche1945
12/11/2020 08:51 | Cashed in my final lot for about +8% and change. Will now patiently wait for the next trading opportunity. PS. JET2 kind enough to have crossed +115% ytd for me. Gambler’s luck as our de-ramper pal might say? I'd take that any day of the week (or tea leaves if one so prefers)! | tongosti

11/11/2020 13:00 | I stand by its seriously overvalued at this point. If I am filtered how can you read my posts. My view remains the same its too high and not for me. I am quite happy to see you and others making money. A BB is for opinions and views. For years you argued it was over valued now its undervalued. I can live with that. I happen to think there are safer and better investments at the moment. Tiger | castleford tiger

11/11/2020 08:31 | new bases are not the moves of a cash strapped company ..knowing how cautious they are, I suspect summer cost saving and cash retention is better than expected | snorkelparker

10/11/2020 16:22 | Congratulations to all of you guys invested. I have missed this rise but happily used the profit from Jet2 elsewhere. Looks like I have a long wait to buy back in on the dips but happy days all round in the market.Enjoy | our haven
10/11/2020 15:59 | Pay attention to what Mr Market is telling you folks and ignore doomsayers. Another big league investor just got in. Onwards and upwards! | tongosti
10/11/2020 15:19 | 22% below its all time high. Since then we have sold Fowler welch and reduced capacity in 2021 by 30% Nobody has any idea yet what the losses are or are going to be for full year 20\21 ending March. Its fabulous news for my long term holder friends and those gamblers who have done very well out of this. If I shorted I would be ahead of the results to September. tiger | castleford tiger
10/11/2020 14:04 | About to break the £12.5 seal folksWhat a champ! | tongosti |
