12/9/2021 11:44 | mark lots of shares are showing similar declines, a bit early to be talking about fund raising…if you do think that is coming, why not delay your purchase? dont know where i got this, but i am under the impression the recent talpa payment was the last one, can anyone confirm? | stansmith3
12/9/2021 10:01 | hades I bought 17k on Friday At sub 112 and an improving business I am confident I will turn a tidy profit and fund Christmas. There is def a rotation going on. Trad UK value is declining - my small cap growth is flying My guess for the share price is that the market is expecting a fund raising. ITV needs to invest but Talpa is emptying the coffers. To raise funds they will have been talking to their big shareholders | marksp2011
11/9/2021 20:12 | Franky in my view the current share price is absolute lunacy. Their numbers will be at least 8% ahead of 2019 at year end. Advertising volumes are astonishing in Oct 21 (min +15% vs high 2020 base) The valuation is absolute lunacy. Breaking all revenue records in 2021 but the share price doesn’t respond. Lunacy. But that’s the FTSE. | hades1
11/9/2021 19:58 | Fortunately I don't expect that to happen again.Lots more certainty and an extremely resilient TV advertising market in our new world. | hades1
11/9/2021 19:56 | Being an investor at the time ITV had turned the corner prior to covid-19. The Mar 2020, 2019 results when they mentioned travel/leisure sector downturn flipped it all down.125p to 50p in a few weeks. | hades1
11/9/2021 18:45 | Stan, in the summer of 2019 ITV share price was trading around 104p - 110p, by Christmas the share price had recovered to 152p, then Covid struck. So yes we had been in a down trend, but was recovering strongly with 2020 expected to be a good year and expected to beat 2019 financial results. Covid stopped it. The share price may have another strong end to this year, if we report strong Q3 results and the BOD reassure us of the dividend in H2, things could change very quickly regarding the share price. | nige co
11/9/2021 17:42 | hadesagreed, dont know either, as i recall the fall basically started when results publishedalthough talpa deal in public domain, im pretty sure it was not on the balance sheetso unless i am mistaken, i think it could be said the board made a bit too much of shouting about reducing debt, only to lump this on to the balance sheet when it strictly became duewas a little naughty in my view, itv would not have had the rise it had if they had shouted about that?itv was in a serious down trend before covid, maybe that is just continuing...who knows.... | stansmith3
11/9/2021 16:45 | Talpa deal dates back to 2015. Not convinced this is the reason for the fall as has been discussed many times since 2015 but I can’t really offer any explanation except that the volume has dried up. It’s not the only share price suffering at the moment BT, Vodafone etc but the volume has especially dried up on ITV - increased volatility? Let’s hope so. | hades1
11/9/2021 15:15 | Stan, yes indeed there was a payment due in August. "Reported net debt of GBP467 million (31 December 2020: GBP545 million) is before the final earnout payment for Talpa of EUR298 million (c. GBP256 million) which will be paid in August 2021" | nige co
11/9/2021 14:49 | nigeitvs slide may well be to do with the fact they told everyone they had cut debt, but then new debt turned up, was in the public domain previously, but not actually on the balance sheeti forget now, but wasn't it about 300m due to endemol or something... | stansmith3
11/9/2021 10:30 | Matthewr1 I assume Blackrock are no longer adding given Friday's low volume and downward trend. | hades1
11/9/2021 10:26 | Yes difficult to explain since they are now performing so well as a business - likely a record advertising revenue year and a thriving studio business.Astonishing | hades1
11/9/2021 10:13 | The way that the ITV share price is performing would make you think that ITV made a loss since the pandemic started, and in need of a rights issue. Whereas ITV still made a profit and cut debt. | nige co
11/9/2021 07:36 | Some balance. Two more optimistic articles from last week. | hades1
10/9/2021 22:49 | Hasn’t improved since I posted it here below 3 hrs ago. Strange things normally get better with age. | hades1
10/9/2021 19:09 | Interestingly 111.1p was the low on 30th July 21 but bounced before close. | hades1

10/9/2021 17:17 | Oh dear, ITV share price has lost 23p in 3 months. | nige co
10/9/2021 17:13 | Such good news the falling share price. Fill yer boots!! | sharebuddy1
10/9/2021 11:18 | In fact the CFO is not that new. He joined in Feb 2019 from EasyJet I think the excuse will be that they don't issue formal guidance. | hades1
10/9/2021 11:06 | If a company’s performance is well ahead of expectations (circa 10%) they have a fiduciary responsibility to pre-announce (before November update). Having said that , as it’s future revenues and not booked , that would give a new CFO an excuse not to. Particularly as the longer you leave it , the more one could say it was not incumbent performance but helped by themselves… anyway all good , apart from the share price! | matthewr1
10/9/2021 10:08 | Hades, the ITV CEO & CFO will never IMHO shout it from the roof tops. They play everything down just in case they disappoint, (so that they look after their jobs) Whenever I watch CNBC and see USA CEO's reporting their company results, they always talk them up. It's not happening with our BOD I'm afraid. | nige co
10/9/2021 10:00 | I know but given their airtime revenue rise they have no choice. They will be up +18.7% vs 2020 and 8% vs 2019 based on industry estimates(and finals). Only Sept-Dec21 are estimates. I have used a very pessimistic Nov and Dec 21 at -5% so likely to only improve. They should be shouting from the roof tops! IMHO THEY ARE BEING FAR TOO CAUTIOUS. I suspect the problem is that the new ex EasyJet CFO is also new to the industry? | hades1 |
