08/9/2021 14:19 | Market makers who are so good at cornering the market supply. Without declaring a large stake, the cornerer hopes to gain control of enough of the supply of the company shares to be able to set the price for it. Easy with this, there is only a small amount available. I firmly believe that this is happening here, all good should there be a bid, it will rocket. | bobdiamond1
08/9/2021 14:09 | Every member on the board at ITV will have options in a share scheme so a share sale by a board member isn't a bad sign. Looking at the small trade volumes, there isn't much going on in ITV shares, that can be a sign that there is very little proper selling, a tree shake! by proper selling I mean sells that are not between the MM's and their friends. | stag6
08/9/2021 13:24 | Thanks Hades, enlightening. | nige co
08/9/2021 12:42 | It’s not an option with any scheme I have belonged too. You can try to get an exception made when you join company/scheme but you will be strongly advised against it as it makes absolutely no sense. As this schemes are usually managed by third parties if you negotiate an exception upfront you can’t easily change it and you always need to have the cash (substantial sum) available to pay the tax man immediately. I asked the question at the time and was strongly advised to sell the free shares to pay the tax! I don’t know anyone that joined one of these schemes and chose to pay the tax from their own cash whenever it’s needed. I am not trying to show off but just trying to assure you that these sales mean absolutely nothing. | hades1
08/9/2021 12:29 | Slater, yes I take your point and agree ie. selling ahead of any bad news that would affect the share price. Yes I understand that he sold to pay for his liabilities, I would think that he would have found the cash from elsewhere if ITV were about to receive a bid. But as Hades points out if it's not an option then I stand corrected. | nige co
08/9/2021 11:59 | ITV CFO Chris Kennedy wouldn't have sold his shares if there was anything happening. Nige, I would say he had to pay liabilities. Kennedy is a senior employee, he is no doubt in all sorts of share options and bonuses, it really has nothing to do with anyone knowing anything. If it turned out Kennedy sold shares because he was in the know of something bad, that would be insider trading and a career ender. | slater5
08/9/2021 10:41 | Certainly in my case I was not given the option to pay the taxes instead. | hades1
08/9/2021 10:40 | It's an automatic procedure.Its always done.It's part of the options/incentive programme. | hades1
08/9/2021 09:57 | ITV CFO Chris Kennedy wouldn't have sold his shares if there was anything happening. Looks like we need the dividends to be reinstated later this year to kick start a recovery in the share price. | nige co
08/9/2021 09:39 | Tough day but trading book volume is BACK! - not O trades | hades1
08/9/2021 09:05 | All these takeover bids and not a sausage for ITV.... | geckotheglorious
07/9/2021 10:26 | 122p would secure a certain upward momentum. | hades1
07/9/2021 07:50 | Surge in TV advertising revenue in September has reached the Daily Mail today (they quote Campaign Mag) - reporting yesterday's market | hades1
06/9/2021 10:54 | Sounds likely. Also given the hardening of the Q3 advertising revenue numbers I expect a few broker upgrades to 2021 numbers in the next few weeks. Thanks | hades1
06/9/2021 09:58 | I think blackrock trader cancelled their buy ticket early Friday to duck out for the weekend….back at 115 and therefore great support this morning. Or , hopefully breaks price (limit) as missed all the auction volume and feels guilty! | matthewr1
06/9/2021 09:21 | ITV showing that she does have a backbone today, up 3p, long may it continue. | nige co
06/9/2021 08:49 | L2/3 Strong 1000k:930k Suspect strength of Sept market has been picked up by a few analysts | hades1
05/9/2021 09:29 | Not sure it’s still in paper. Clearly not popular? | hades1
04/9/2021 09:42 | For the spitting image fans: Spitting Image returns 11 September after record BritBox subscribers, four-year record viewing figures on ITV, and 200 million global views online. Following the successful return of the show last autumn, Spitting Image is set to hit BritBox UK on 11th September. | lauders
04/9/2021 09:29 | matthewr1 Do you still believe Blackrock have a buy order in given last week’s weakness? Given the continued weakness it does look like the bears have this in their control? Your insight would be welcome. | hades1
03/9/2021 22:04 | The ITV share price is currently trading at 115p. But given the uncertain economic outlook, the question now is what the future holds for it. To try and predict where the ITV price will head next, it's worth knowing its strengths and potential weaknesses. The good news is that it stacks up well against some important financial and technical measures. Specifically, it's a large-cap share with exposure to two influential drivers of investment returns in the stock market: high quality and strong momentum. Quality and momentum are highly prized among long term investors. ITV is a quality stock and more likely to be resilient. ITV is a cash-generating businesses that can compound investment returns over time. There is strength at 123p with a break out there the next target is 135p. I see Tempus says avoid, I disagree but that is my opinion. | jimbull
03/9/2021 21:31 | Good work Hades, thanks for sharing. | nige co
03/9/2021 20:26 | Most Newspapers heads haven’t realised that the internet is their real competitor these days! - some of it is also ‘old habits die hard’ | hades1
03/9/2021 20:15 | I sadly don’t expect any of the Newspaper journalists to pick up the story as their bosses still view Television Stations as competitors! - possibly The Guardian/ Observer as they share some journalists with Campaign Magazine. The Newspapers don’t report positive stories about competitors - Usually negative or nothing. | hades1 |
