FTSE futures just slightly up at present (these "slightly" numbers dont appear to mean much in the scheme of things).

If Brexit goes badly I guess we get a weaker pound which means a stronger FTSE

PoikkaPresumably all the covid affected shares will get a great bounce when Trump pre-empts the usual vaccine approval process to help his election effort.Nov 1 is the suggested date to help him the most, but positive news could come from any of the major trials any day now, so being short is very risky over the next month or so.

hhh1: I picked ITV for average profits to market cap.

I used different theory for Sainsburys. I like Sainsburys because its NAV per share is greater than its share price by about 30%!! By using NAV figure Sainsburys is the 9th cheapest company in the FTSE100 .The cheap ones tend to be oil, insurance or banks. So I'm thinking, yes Sainsburys lost its way a bit but the fall in the share price has got ahead of itself. Sainsburys does not yet have a "BRITBOX" to make it as good as ITV but it is toying with lots of ideas so probably come up with something.

ITV story is better, but Sainsburys is also good in a slightly different way. If I could only pick one it would be ITV, but I have both.

I also have Pearson as I am a believer in online education and Id be interested to see how this pans out but so far does not look good.

I also got BT, there is a lot of value which will be unlocked when company splits and floats or partially sells Openreach.
Plus good divi when restarts.

If anyone liked the film La Haine, this looks good. If you haven't seem La Haine, it's a top film.

I got loads of NWG and LLOY. Again, similar to INVP, I see these giving a min 15% return a year in divis (based in current share price levels), once all the sheet is over. They were both making about £4bn a year profit recently. It will get back there.

There are of course new shows coming on stream on Britbox - "Cold Courage":

John Simm stars in this twisty London-set thriller about power and corruption. Two young Finnish women find themselves drawn together via the Studio - a clandestine group dedicated to bringing justice to those who seem beyond the law

Tinker Tailor is one of the best TV dramas of all time. I have to agree with you also BobD, Boys from the Blackstuff is brilliant, so is Edge of Darkness and if you can get it on Britbox, 'Law and Order' the 1978 four part series, not the more recent Bradley Walsh show.

If it is on Britbox the 1978 'Law and Order' is a classic, one of the best crime stories you will ever see.

I recommend it.

I'd recommend Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the follow up series Smiley's People. British acting at its best.
