03/9/2020 13:41 | 'there is no net debt in the sense, assets are greater than liabilities.'If you believe they have no net debt and it's meaningless then you am I, or their accountants, auditors, banks, credit agencies, II's, etc., to disagree.Yes they have a positive NAV, but as I've already posted, that is not a measure of their net debt or their ability to fund that debt and/or remain solvent.Last word and all the best. | discodave45
03/9/2020 13:41 | Agreed Ham, a bun fight may well commence. ITV have a lot of content that a big player may want. | nige co
03/9/2020 13:14 | discodave45: you dont disagree with me, you just misunderstood what I said. | netcurtains
03/9/2020 13:09 | Call me a ramper, but I bet if one bid emerges, a second will be flushed out as well from another suitor. Time will tell! | hamhamham1
03/9/2020 12:45 | NetSorry but completely disagree, both in how you derive net debt (total assets v total liabilities equals net assets not net debt) and also to say it's meaningless. If the credit agencies down grade their rating because they don't manage their level of net debt then the share price will drop accordingly......net debt is very important to ITV, hence their detailed reporting of it and their targets.Best we agree to disagree :) | discodave45
03/9/2020 12:31 | hhh: that news alone could be behind the price rally - that is a lot of money.. | netcurtains
03/9/2020 12:29 | More ad revenue should come back in with return of soaps to 6x per week... | hamhamham1
03/9/2020 12:28 | Well I came in thinking it was a "double bottom" so the chart still sort of looks like that. So why not? That is why I originally came in... I was looking for the bounces towards 70p and 80p and even beyond.. | netcurtains
03/9/2020 12:18 | discodave45: My point is, if you look at TOTAL assets against TOTAL liabilities there is no "net debt" - net debt is a strange beast and in some ways meaningless - if company making money and assets greater than liabilities. I was using accounts as listed on Wall Street Journal 2020 figures (note ITV has really large intangible assets sooooo - whats important is it has loads of cash and loads of assets): | netcurtains
03/9/2020 12:06 | ITV's net debt (from their H1):'As at 30 June 2020, reported net debt (including IFRS16 liability) was GBP783 million (31 December 2019: GBP893 million)'.Adjusted net debt was just over £1bn, however, the credit rating agencies look at their reported net debt.Poster Buywell simply googled ITV net debt and took the figure of £2.4bn from there without bothering to actually look any further......because it suited his agenda I guess. | discodave45
03/9/2020 12:04 | Hi Guys!! Cloud but nice and warm here going out for a wlak and bite to eat soon. I thought I'd join in wishing you guys well and I just hoep those that started "topping up, fillin boots" at aroind from 190p downwards get your money back and bit more. I am still very cautious until we get a vaccine and I wish the pro-active gamblers won't sit on their hands like some like those entioned above. ATB, DYOR C7 - may join in at sub 50p or when their is real hope of a vaccine, a vaccine that works and the clowns have in place sytems to administer these jabs within 9 months. Never mind the massive tax rises, most of the cities central shops closing down and this mini boom in house prices turning south and massive job losses ATB DYOR | cautious7
03/9/2020 11:54 | We're going to have a heck of a lot of Christmas adverts soon - Every company in the UK is going to want to recover and the best way of doing that is LOADS OF ADVERTISING.... | netcurtains

03/9/2020 11:17 | Gone from a couple of grand down to over a grand up here in a day or so. | hamhamham1
03/9/2020 11:12 | The movement in the ITV share price has been indicative of manipulation. There has been a nice rise this morning as buyers realise that ITV are cheap. The share price has been hammered, but it looks like the drop out of the FTSE 100 along with the publicity has sparked a bit of buying. If this gets above 65p and stays up, I have no fear that barring any bad news, ITV will be up in the 70's fairly soon. Just glad I bought as they dropped on the FTSE news. I have a low average here, so I am happy at being long. | jimbull
03/9/2020 11:04 | Bought 35k x SEE :) Quite happy to punt a grand on these kinda companies. Cheers. | hamhamham1
