An rns is only necessary if an offer or bid is actually made. People showing an "interest" isn't announceable otherwise all kinds of skullduggery would abound with a cheeky interest shown by parties who aren't seriously bothered.

I believe goldfinger. Apologies if that upsets folk! NOT!

I don't take anything hook line and sinker! The buyback ride has evaporated, take it as gospel! Wouldn't be surprised if this goes to 65p!

No Jim GF is making this up as he goes along. And people like you open wide and take it hook, line, and sinker. The buy back is going to take the price higher. It's started already. Not sure if you've noticed that or not.

It's certainly not GF's rumour that taken the share price up from 60p to 72p is it. FFS.

TBlob...what happened to your jumping up and down spouting ITV's buyback was gonna send the share price sky high, even had a go at Jacko when he posted the gain was already baked in. Now your posting G/f's 108p is rubbish, like you would know lol!

Are you sure you aren't stansmith mk 2, you are definitely thick enough!

ROFLMAO

Is it not 'price sensitive' information? Any rumour even would see shares spike 30%.
Why does this country pamper to the short sellers so much?
Board are guilty and complicit. Why?

Slowly climb to target price 116p per share, high dividend yields & huge share buy back in place

justiceforthemany: Companies get tentitive interest all the time. I would suspect 90% of them go no where... I dont think you have to make an RNS unless it sounds serious..

For example: The whole Currys Elliot thing probably was a total waste of time making an RNS as no one was serious - so perhaps Currys just wanted to boost the share price... Which it did do.

ITV possibly should leak a few of these bids from time to time or treat one of them a bit serious so an RNS gets issued....

"my source reckons that an offer of 108p a share went unsupported on the grounds it would fail" utter rubbish once again.

In not disclosing an approach the Dame and board are in breach of the UK takeover code. It is clearly price sensitive information and they willingly allowed the share price to fall to 55p.
There need to be consequences.

Stan not too bright! How do you know he is gaslighting when you whine daily that you have filtered him.

At least Goldfinger is entertaining, you could bore a housebrick to dust with your droning on and on and on in the same old rut. As I too am on FILTER, I know you will be reading this post to put a spark into your boring existence!!

Interesting Goldfinger especially the people behind the company. One James Murdoch son of Rupert who once bid for ITV.

Comcast-owned company NBC Universal Media has paid an undisclosed amount for a shareholding in Bodhi Tree, which former Fox CEO Murdoch launched ..

LolOur resident mental patient - cankicker - has transferred to the behind the curve board and is already busy gaslighting them.Unfortunately they will kick him out again before too long and he will come back here with his tail between his legs. The plus side is I get to rub his nose in his lies.

Irrespective of whether or not I believe you, I still appreciate the response. Thank you.

Edit: if reports eventually emerge that the Bhodi/Banijay story was largely true, then your reputation will receive a boost!

If ITV is using buybacks in Treasury rather than cancelling does that mean theses shares still have a vote and thus ITV can vote against any bid?
