In which case bad stock selection by 3i ?
Few of thestocks charted above have matched the index. IGC is up 50% over 18 months - but levelled off midway through.

The chart for 3i Infrastructure Fund (3IN) looks good over the past 18 months since Modi came to power, but that is misleading. The India part of the 3i portfolio has fallen over that period and is the worst performing part of their holdings. It is Europe that has driven the good performance, good enough to outweigh the India drop.

Skil Ports & Logistics (SPL) is on a bit of a roll, now that people can see the pace of work on site as it races to get the main port area filled and secure ahead of the monsoons, after many years of red tape delay. Share price has doubled in the past 14 weeks after bouncing of its alltime low in November. Company unfortunately has been dreadful at keeping shareholders informed - and some are suspicious that when the company does speak, it'll be to announce a dilutative fundraising to finance completion of construction.
