13/11/2024 13:59 | Could be nothing to do with the company at all | simonsmithiv
13/11/2024 13:56 | LLL - I agree with your scenario "The fact Lemos left with immediate effect & without thanks is telling. To me it suggests he was either found guilty of commercial or personal impropriety. Why else would you fire your CEO on the spot? It's clearly not just a matter of him failing to hit targets or looking unlikely he ever could." | zingaro
13/11/2024 13:56 | I'm not sure how they work but is there any risk to IQE banking covenants at this level? What would the implication be if so? | jamesrowe
13/11/2024 13:46 | LTS - I think your fantasy game theory's highly plausible & am on record several times saying as much (going back more than a year). Americo Lemos even sounds like a plausible name for a spy - Ian Fleming would be proud! Of course, we could both be wrong. But whatever the reason, the company's continued refusal - either to elaborate or reassure - is doing investors immense harm (on paper at least). The fact Lemos left with immediate effect & without thanks is telling. To me it suggests he was either found guilty of commercial or personal impropriety. Why else would you fire your CEO on the spot? It's clearly not just a matter of him failing to hit targets or looking unlikely he ever could. Either way, we deserve so much better than this continued wall of silence, which simply encourages speculation and shorting. And by the way everyone, where's sweenoid? LOL. | lord loads of lolly
13/11/2024 13:43 | Mw16 keep up, Crosswires is down 200k+ read further back. Don’t judge your own life experience with regards to money with others, he probably has much more to play with than you, and clearly a higher risk tolerance. I doubt he will even see what you type because he has probably filtered you and can’t be bothered to respond. You don’t seem to have ever posted anything of remote interest re IQE looking in your post history so I’ll be filtering you too 😉 | longtallsally
13/11/2024 13:38 | I went through this process and couldn’t find any rational reason for share price and market cap to be where they are. This also happened in 2016 before the 2017 explosion of the share price from similar levels to £1.70. That coincided with the growth of the VCSEL market which possibly mirrors the growth the GaN and CS market is about to witness. I’m not saying that will happen again with 10p x17 but clearly fear has led us so low and nobody saw the last cycle, IQE always bounces in the extremes one way or another. Could IQE just decide to go private again, I mean at £100m or less you would imagine that’s possible, so low has the market cap become. | tomduck
13/11/2024 13:28 | I’ll go first in this fantasy game. Communications were found that he was running the company into the ground for GF to buy cheap. | longtallsally
13/11/2024 13:25 | Let’s see if we can find a scenario whereby Americos departure would equal a 50% plus discount to book value and the imminent collapse of IQE (without even being sold)? He left because… | crosswires
13/11/2024 13:04 | There are no notifiable shorts atm but bound to be some minor ones plus obviously some fund rotation. Definitely a long term play, one to forget about, perhaps only short term play if they decide to seek a sale. Could definitely touch 9, what’s to stop it? However for non current holders (or top uppers) it’s probably at “no brainer” territory now if you can look past the fear factor. Valuation on any scenario doesn’t make sense. | longtallsally
13/11/2024 13:02 | looking at 9.xx before the close? | scrawny dawny
13/11/2024 13:00 | Just going to have to wait for the boys to decide where the bottom is to close their shorts, then it'll fly back up. Same old. | simonsmithiv
13/11/2024 12:49 | Simon, effectively yes you would think so as it’s now being priced that way at over 50% discount to book value. No doubt in my mind that offering the company up for sale for assets and ready made three location solution for mass VCSEL production would be at least book value but probably more. I would imagine whoever bought it couldn’t run it as badly as it has been so far 😉 | crosswires
13/11/2024 12:43 | Is this going bust? You'd think so. | simonsmithiv
13/11/2024 12:38 | And I sold this lot. Only I didnt. So easy to manipulate information to make the appearance of a trade, based of someone elses trade. Never trust a serial poster on there big claims. I have seen this so many times. 13/11/2024 12:21 | The real problem is not "the current valuation" but why on earth Lemon just disappeared as a lightning strike ? | fuji99
13/11/2024 10:36 | Yes, all is not as it seems, some odd reporting … See below for transparency, today’s 50k buy and last weeks 101664 (to make a round number in my account, i’m a bit OCD on numbers!) I shan’t reveal my total holding, but it’s over 1m and my average is now down into the 20s. 13/11/2024 10:28 | Some strange mm reporting going on for IQE shares, presumably the 8.42 “sell” is your buy Crosswires? 13/11/2024 10:11 | Hope the timing of buying is spot on Crosswire, surely this can't go any lower. Maybe time to lower averages. | hutchmeister
13/11/2024 09:51 | No you didn't you liar. | mw16
13/11/2024 09:15 | As Del boy used to say, “Fortune favours the brave Rodney” 😂 | longtallsally
13/11/2024 09:00 | Yep 10.285 was my latest buy. Sally possibly yes BUT I have always had a high risk tolerance and it’s often (but not always) paid off for me over time. Talking to my better half last night, who is a rational sounding board, we just can’t get our heads round the current valuation, it makes no sense even as a fire sale. It may be one of those occasions where irrational behaviour due to multiple scenarios has created an opportunity for those with risk tolerance. Either that or I will lose a few hundred grand and look rather silly. We shall see | crosswires
13/11/2024 08:52 | Smoke and mirrors from the mm's, buys at 10.285. Looks very oversold. | simonsmithiv
13/11/2024 08:51 | You must need your head checking Crosswires. | longtallsally
13/11/2024 08:47 | We can move a few words and change the date to modify the meaning of the title: From: "New CEO, new hope, new start for IQE in 2022" to "New hope for a new CEO for a new start for IQE 2024". | fuji99 |
