I am taking the very long view, just bought another 50k at 10.285

Agree re Taiwan, on that alone the share price is effectively calculating a zero MC for the UK and USA business

If someone wants to create a new thread do so. I don't think I have brought any luck here. Albeit some might of bought low and sold mid 30's.

Title is a tough one. IQE discussion thread 2024? Or maybe do it for 2025.

Good spot Lab, i think that Taiwan is where IQE has to focus now and that IPO appears critical.

I don't think I can change the thread title?

On a plus side if tariffs do come in IQE has production bases across the world so could shift some production to the US or UK. So i don't think that would be a disaster. Cost of moving equipment might not be so cheap. Staff in Taiwan cheaper than America or UK? Only 6m shares traded today at these prices but volumes are much higher.

Markets in general across Europe fell 1-2% today. America not so bad.

If Americo is as good as people thought and really believes in the potential growth, he'll be back with a corporate bidder. Otherwise I expect the bad news to continue.

In July of this year, IQE announced plans to IPO its wholly owned Taiwan business on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. It has engaged with the local regulator to prepare for necessary filings and aims to list in Q2 2025. It will continue to control the business via a majority stake post-IPO. We regard this as both a defensive and an offensive move. It is defensive because capital raised from this IPO can further shore up its balance sheet. It is offensive because it is a great way to unlock value and fuel strategic investments. Just as a reference point, if it pulls off this IPO and trades at an earnings multiple close to that of its listed Taiwanese peer, then the market cap of its Taiwan subsidiary will well exceed that of its UK parent. With a roughly 1.5% position, we believe the risk-reward for IQE is well in our favor.

I definitely think a new thread or change of title is called for. We need to bury the Americo years.

and in a semi conductor market that’s worth multiplies of 2009 IQE manages to run itself to the edge of viability. Boy have the BOD got their work cut out to salvage IQE.

I think you have to go back to 2009 ish for this level of share price ..so maybe a 15 year low?

Effectively today saw another 10% come off the SP, already at historic lows for the past decade, due to two 500k sales.

Large ii and pi holders have over 500m shares, if only one large holder wants to exit imagine where the share price ends up…

Almost another 10% decline and MC now £102m. As investors I suspect we would be better off with a sale and cutting our losses at circa £150m mc value.

As usual IQE finds their own poor performance amplified further by every tail wind possible. I won’t be surprised if it ends up in single digit range this week.

I remember when some were suggesting seeing Richard Griffiths taking a large holding was a good sign. Not so good now is it?

I think we can lay to bed any sense of achieving hige revenue growth by 2027, it’s now a question of if they can stay a going concern and rebuild to get back to £180m plus imo

Crosswires and Sweenoid must be hemorrhaging, and i’m not feeling chipper either!

Sinking sword is presumably falling knife on steroids?! You are right though.

I remember Sweenoid used to say he was making the cost of a premium car every few pence rise, would hate to be in his shoes now the converse is true, he must be asking IQE why Americo was so bullish on his private one to one meet up. Certainly poor form

I keep telling people not to buy but they all seem to know better. Lack of volume trades here has been a big no no for me. That on top of the CEO, losses and poor turnover. Mixed in with no capital to buy any machines.sinking sword and everyone trying to catch it before it hits the bottom.

It’s hard to disagree with you Sally. I never once thought 10p was on the cards, the lack of support in the market and comms from the board is deafening.

What a disaster this one has turned into. Let’s just hope in 2-3 years they can turn it around.

The real problem behind IQE performance is why Americo Lemon has suddenly left ?

IQE delivered a consistent performance in the first half of 2024, with a 27% rise in revenue
year-on-year and a return to a positive adjusted EBITDA position. We expect the market to
continue to show pockets of recovery during the second half, resulting in more moderate
growth for 2024 on a full-year basis. We look forward to progressing the planned IPO of our
Taiwanese subsidiary, which will help to accelerate our diversification strategy into the GaN
Power market and microLED, and will provide additional signiicant cash resourses

Ex CEO STATEMENT 10/09/24

SHOULD THIS CAUSE A DROP FROM 35P TO 11p?- NO
