23/7/2019 08:51 | Ahh - what a beautiful day. I had such strange dreams, nightmares actually, where the world was being attacked by clockwork robots. They went on and on repeating the same half truths and fears. I can see clearly now and am happy and excited for the future. | boboty
23/7/2019 08:46 | Re: "IQE has now qualified with a major customer in Asia for new Asia-centric supply chains for Heterojunction Bipolar Transistors (HBTs). " Had to read several times, is it a completely new supply chain, operating in Asia, or a supply line that was perhaps previously US based. I suspect the latter as next line says " These ARE used as Power Amplifiers (PAs) in mobile handsets, " ..rather than: " These are TO BE used as Power Amplifiers (PAs) in mobile handsets, " The answer is probably glaringly obvious to Techies and those familiar with HBT's. ;-) No indicatiions of revenue percentage scale to know if the elements are transformational, but all good stuff...and coming from other than a mandatory scheduled rns adds to its reception. :-) Dave | dr_smith
23/7/2019 08:41 | Good morning puzzlers! Enjoy "Spot The Difference" games? Then take another look at this morning's ASIA-centric supply chains RNS . . . tucked away at the very end. YES!! YES!! YES!! IQE (Tim Pullen?) have FINALLY appointed a professional financial and corporate PR team - Headland Consultancy Among other leading names, they look after mobile phone carrier 3, who claim to lead on 5G in the U.K. TheCityUK, Greene King, AirBnB, and eToro, the online trading and investment platform are also clients. We are looked after by Andy Rivett-Carnac who handles the 3 Telecom account too Looking at their website I found it reassuring to read that they ". . . never take an old solution out of the box, use a fixed template or predetermined team. Our clients get a nimble, purpose-built combination of specialists in financial and corporate communications, public affairs and campaigning. This range of abilities means we combine commercial acumen and creative talent to deliver strong advice and powerful results – in the most challenging situations." They also have this to say about their role in improving a company's Financial Communication efforts: "We have the deep experience required to navigate this complex landscape to design, implement and execute effective communications programmes. These range from financial calendar work and investor days to M&A, IPOs, bond issues and other capital raisings, financial restructurings, shareholder activism and bankruptcies." 3 cheers for Tim Pullen . . . hip, hip, HOORAY!! 23/7/2019 08:29 | What a superb morning AMS making stellar remarks about3D sensing, extremely encouraging and positive comments on the trajectory of world facing 3D for AR. Read this I said this yesterday “ If you look at what management have done in terms of decreasing the geopolitical risk by ‘spreading&rsq By the way the MOST exciting comment in today’s statement for me was this We look forward to significantly increasing both the volume and breadth of products we are able to provide to these new Asia-centric supply chains, including products under currently development such as filters and high-performance switches" And highlight this “such as filters and high-performance switches" Loverly - looks like they are IN and winning business for the 5G filter market - a market that within 2-3 years could DOUBLE - TREBLE their wireless income :-) Off topic I also got some great personal news this morning , my OU module result for this year was graded a distinction , so my final history degree is a 1st class honours BA(Hons) with a distinction :-) :-) Champers anyone S | sweenoid
23/7/2019 08:29 | Bots are in control trying to stem any rise. Pure manipulation. | jimboyce
23/7/2019 08:13 | Yes, encouraging news and helpful that IQE have worldwide production facilities. share price initial reaction strong. Not sure that competitors have that diversity. Pity they can't name any customers. Does 'Asian' preclude China and hence who-are-we? | sf5

23/7/2019 06:56 | Trump agrees to prompt responses to license requests for Huawei sales(Update). Trump insisting that only older SC technologies be sold to Huawei. Well , I hope it was explained to the president that the US only has older technologies to sell, the newer technologies having been developed outside the US. | picobird
22/7/2019 20:55 | Thanks sweeney - look forward to your update on AMS and news of substantive COMMERCIAL news. My take is that IQE is a singularly 'unlucky' stock. So many 'unforeseen' events starting with the Muddy Waters report and we're now back to March 22017 share price levels. I just don't see any real trigger for meaningful revenue expansion this year. Do you have a take on what % of revenues is mobile-related (incl nascent 5G business)? I sense it's just too high so we're at the mercy of cyclical forces. Arguably, the mobile market is now as mature as laptops and, prior to that, pcs. Just no killer reason for jo public to 'upgrade' anymore, except that many are bought on hire purchase with fixed term contracts so there should be some activity. But when we have dudes like Forbes telling their readers each week to skip the 2019 iphone cycle, I sense we could be in for much belt-tightening in 19H2. What will end this cycle? Who knows - possibly 5G next year? Not AR I feel sure (but then I'm a late adopter in the words of Crossing the Chasm......). The big lidar order mentioned the other week may be a pointer perhaps. Answers on a postcard please. | sf5 |
