Wow, that was some bizarre price movements, dropped 10% on lest than 1m shares and nearly half were buys?? And bounced back just as quickly...

This morning's action is a clear case of shorters taking advantage of thin early morning order books where they can get a big fall buy selling just a few and later in the day can buy back larger quantities without moving the price up so much.

Games to scare out the private investors. Sit tight and I am confident you will get an opportunity to share for £2 at some point this year.

Oof. That's a 20% drop in 6 days. There is something for the AGM, how to reduce share price volatility.

The AGM is not by any means guaranteed to be supportive, short term, the market as a whole is jittery. And the summer is so often a period of consolidation...But with luck the market is looking forward short term...The big money will play on fear...

Not IQE news but another UK company in the same compound semi / photonics field

A Golden Future For CST Global

...........Speaking to those in attendance – a mix of leading engineers in industry and academia, investors, Members of Parliament and the technical press – company co-founder and CEO Neil Martin explained that feelings of anticipation and urgency were running high in today’s photonics industry.

“Before us is a vast gold rush opportunity in photonics technology," said Martin, who argued that it is crucial to prove the feasibility of the technology first, because the company that has done so can capture the market...........

............The UK industrial partners in this project are already significant materials and chip-scale suppliers to this market. CST Global is the project leader, supported by academic partners Cardiff and Swansea Universities and commercial partner Compound Semiconductor Centre (CSC) in Cardiff.

Now open for business, the CSC is a joint venture between IQE, a leading supplier of compound semiconductor wafer products and Cardiff University (see Cardiff cluster to commercialise compound semiconductor research). The CSC is intended to be Europe's first prototyping facility, creating a more rapid route to market for compound semiconductor based technologies..................

The only thing we need out of the AGM is to state the 5 new tools are up and running and to show them off to investors.

i am not at all desperate
i am well into my 70's and have been investing for most of those years
shorting is a crime imo, especially so with borrowed stock. it affects all pension or insurance co holders negatively.
i am still in full time work and earn a disgusting income. however, my sipp is a different matter. i hope i will die in the saddle but if i don't i will need the money.
the passivity of shareholders is a well known phenomenon
i hope, simply, that we can all become more active in encouraging bod's to remember why they started, are running, a company.
some interesting research from the 70's [what's that :-)] listed the priorities
what do you think they were?

Guys it is pointless at digging each other on here. You have to pick and choose what information suits you. I have only been a holder since December, bought in at £1.10p and sold at £1.3995 the night before results came out. That was because of a stop loss being activated. I have now learnt not to put them in place because of the shorters. I then bought in again at £1.03p and sold at £1.30p as someone on the board said the short term target was the £1.30p mark. So my point is listening to a variety of you guys has help this Newb here make my own decisions. They were my own based on useful information from you all:

Hi Adeuk, always a pleasure to read your posts - honest and not loaded. Understand your situation and we all have ours. I think having plenty of patience is a big requirement in this activity although I and many others do agree with you Bod lack of news/update or two is benefiting con artists.

Hi adejuk

Maybe they’re fishing for your stops, your posts sound ever more desperate..so your stock is in play🙂

..only kidding just relax & chill stocks go up stocks go down in this stock the only notable thing is how retail holders are squeaking whilst T Rowe Price accumulate & other institutional holders sit tight.

The BoD are there to run the company not to provide mood music to soothe the fevered brow of over excitable bulletin board posters..it’s voting v weighing machine to a T.

btw, you have a filter button. pl use it rather than excoriating me for using the bb in the way i choose rather than the way you would choose for me.
perhaps democracy is uncomfortable for you?

you and the bod clearly do not understand that we live in a monitory democracy
transparency, where possible, is not only desirable but necessary. i have a huge amount invested here.

That's because your expectations of the AGM were unrealistic and you are now inferring the content of the AGM presentation based on the share price performance. An AGM is a chance to meet the Company management team and get insights on the business. It's not a chance to release price sensitive information.

Until you understand the role of the BoD and how the markets work you will continue to get upset and inflict your tedious rants on the readers of this BB.

my expectations for the agm are decreasing by the day
i fear it will not meet my expectations
no doubt, given the lack of comment, everyone is happy with the decline in the sp
ano top up opportunity ?
the shorters will hit any rise with all they have and given the bod's lack of reaction to the woeful share price performance, the rise to 130 will be 'short' lived.

Interesting last few minutes today - huge volume in comparison to the rest of the day in order to drop share price but then recovered slightly in the closing auction. I see Wellington have increased their short as well whereas everyone else has been reducing theirs! Probably explains why the price has fallen even when other shorts reducing.
