25/1/2018 23:48 | Re Milly 17's post I know it goes on but how can the FCA allow it to happen. Why should the hedge funds be allowed to buy back millions of shares without moving the price. What chance have us Pi's got when the games rules are so stacked against us. This is what was on iii site. "Additionally, and as an aside, the spikes in volume we see in today's trading would appear to be a result of 5 trades ~108-109p totalling just under 6.9 million shares. All were transacted off exchange in Dublin by a bulk volume provider who specialises in dark pool transactions. Of course we cannot know for certain whether they were buys or sells, however, subsequent price movement was suggestive that they were likely buys. And of course, whilst we cannot say for certain that they were shorts closing out, it certainly does appear that we have a significant buyer at that price. One whom it seems is rather keen to obscure their identity." | blueflame
25/1/2018 23:34 | Firstly, apologies to Hammerd for carrying on the discussion, but I have become intrigued as a victim of a major short attack. What is the highest ever % short in a single company. It's surprisingly difficult to find out historic data. I can find current info, and mid teens seems to be the upper end. This US site shows some startlingly high shorts, over 50%, how can that be? | 1mthead

25/1/2018 22:08 | Himax should be putting out a TU tomorrow which will give us the first glimpse of the last quarter for one of Apples 3D sensing suppliers. They are probably the number 2 supplier behind LITE but ahead of Finisar. | lpavlou
25/1/2018 21:28 | LazyJ There is a post on another chat board this evening, on I i I by per ardua ad astrahat, that might interest you re those trades today. It says 6.9m were transacted off exchange in Dublin plus a bit about the buyer. I'm not sure how you find that sort of thing out but there presumably is a way. | milly17

I'd better 'hush my mouth' as zapa may well come back and say, "And the same applies to you regas!". Whatever, it's a nice feeling knowing that I can't lose any more money until 8-00 am tomorrow. I'll sleep well tonight and you all do the same. | regasclockwork

25/1/2018 15:39 | Seems to be a lot of 'nervous tension' here today. Hence the continues stream of brown stuff. Whilst we wait for it to return to 180p, I'll give a small contribution. Are you 'all ears'? Read on: fuji9925 Jan '18 - 15:14 - 11857 of 11857 0 0 1 “Time is the friend of the wonderful company, the enemy of the mediocre.” Warren Buffet" -End- Warren Buffet [note the 1-tea]. Isn't that where rabbits go for a 'hands on' bite to eat? I've noticed that they 'paws' [pause] before paying the bill. Will the real Warren Buffett stand up please! Before I go '2T' at 4-30. Lol [I hope - or possibly knot? ]. | regasclockwork
25/1/2018 15:38 | On the positive side chaps, if it carries in this vein then we'll be able to put about 100k away in our ISAs in April :-) | hammerd2
25/1/2018 15:29 | Grity - Indeterminate. | skinny
25/1/2018 15:28 | Unfortunately Mr. Buffet frequently has his quote applied wrongly, because the 'wonderful company' bit is missing and its the most complicated to assess. Lost count of how many times I've seen him quoted when a less than wonderful company's shares are dropping, or when a company growing steadily has got overblown and starts dropping. The 'wonderful company' bit is similar to those in the Zulu principle and loads of other books. Without that, any ltbh is pointless. | yump
