Aimingupward2 - in reply to your post #6082 I am more than happy to share with readers of this BB that I copied and pasted the history of IQE - which as a relatively new holder of their shares (since 64p) I found interesting - straight from Wikipedia. Good read wasn't it?

I almost just sold my entire holding after looking at that slide. At first glance it appeared to me that Macom are about to undercut IQE by a factor of 25 with their own tech. I had a couple more looks and perhaps I'm wrong, it's not entirely clear is it? I bloody hope I'm wrong!!

I meant what I meant - read SLIDE 20 properly and closely ...or just leave it up to me , sorry.....there I go again ;-)
Meant in jest and to get up the noses , whose noses, it gets up :-)

Moving up on relatively low volume suggests a lot of consolidation has happened.

i.e a big chunk of sellers have been replaced with a big chunk of new buyers and the 150+ level is becoming the new norm.

Sheep,Thanks! I wasn't sure if I was barking up the wrong tree! I've forgotten a lot of the stuff I've researched here in the past.

tomy, that has been talked about for ages on this thread. Look at all sweenoid's posts about Macom and the PON market.

A question to Sweenoid, Sheep-Herder et al, Laser optical technology to replace copper cables There is so much excitement and anticipation over the new iPhone having vcsel technology and this is understandable as it's very tactile, however my excitement is about the Internet broadband providers upgrading their systems to 'fibre to the premises'. As I understand it vcsel technology will be needed here also! Could I have your thoughts on this please?

............and despite the suspected high price I predict it will be hard to get hold of causing a rush for them..

Consolidating nicely before Tuesday. I know the iPhone 8 isn't the be all and end all but for me it speaks volumes at the moment.

whalehq - refreshing reply from you, thanks.
I was beginning to feel like the poor sod in Life of Brian who repeatedly got pelted with large stones for simply shouting "Jehovah!"

Thanks for that Sweenoid, I applied 10% of Lumentum's revenues, 80% market share and 39% ebit margin resulting that approximate range of EBIT (clarification ). I'm very happy with that prospect but if it's way off, like you say, I'll be more than happy.

I agree with Ramridge's earlier post also, I think anyone who has a stake in this company is bound to suffer from the incentive bias that he speaks of. I certainly welcome that reminder and will challenge my biases accordingly.
