19/7/2017 16:12 | "The smart factory. The fourth industrial revolution. The industrial internet. Whatever you prefer to call it, Industry 4.0 is becoming one of the defining themes of the current era, promising the combination of connectivity, flexibility, artificial intelligence and speed required to deliver next-level industrial productivity. So where does photonics fit in? Perhaps it would be easier to ask where doesn’t photonics fit in. From high-speed optical data links to the versatility of laser materials processing, and the feedback and intelligent decision-making made possible by machine vision systems and optical sensors, the smart factories of the near future will exploit photonics like none before..." | someuwin
19/7/2017 15:27 | Maxwellsdemon. "the company responsible for supplying the iPhone 8’s advanced 3D camera sensors will need some time to ramp up supply " "The company". I am no Apple expert but have read third parties saying Apples policy is to have 2+ suppliers for EVERYTHING, so there shouldn't be a "The" in the singular sense. I assume this is a non-unique need. Implementing new technology by its nature means supply will not be plentiful - more likely have a premium cost in the short term, until supply ramped up. Not an apple fan myself, more of a synic I am told, so can't help thinking Apple products in short supply is seen by them as a positive and a newsworthy story likely grabbing more attention that taking out adverts for new phones. Gotta go now.. caller on 2 syrup tins and string ;-) | dr_smith
19/7/2017 15:16 | I've always been a Samsung/Android man myself, but might consider Apple this time around. Although I hate not have a back key at the bottom of the phone screen. | poombear
19/7/2017 15:02 | .............Not only will the iPhone 8 release be delayed slightly, but quantities will reportedly be severely limited at launch due to ongoing yield issues and component shortages. As a quick example, there have been reports that the company responsible for supplying the iPhone 8’s advanced 3D camera sensors will need some time to ramp up supply to the levels Apple needs for a massive global launch......... | maxwellsdemon

18/7/2017 23:02 | Sheepherder: When I signed up with IG, the only options available for a demo account were for CFD. Tony 68000 - good idea - thank-you. Sailastra: Thank-you. I did try it some time back - but seem to recall there was a catch, so gave up with it, but will give it another try. Is that from a subscribed account or a freebie? Sweenoid (and all). I use my name David R.Smith rather than anonymous to handle with intent of being open/honest etc.. and options for styling a common name as unique are limited but unfortunately gives misleading impression. I have made comment before to explain, I am not a Doc or PHD etc either, just same as most here - a friendly honest person.... with a sense of humour. I don't know Sheep_Herder..but I bet he/she doesn't herd sheep. Maybe Tony68000 is a cyborg successor to the T2000 in Terminator. ;-) Mad Foetus and Desperate Dan may possibly not be their real names. ;-) I'll get me coat.... | dr_smith

18/7/2017 19:31 | Looking at the chart back in 2000 The price reached 6.50 ish before tanking. Was the price drop because of consolidation Of shares , or because the market didn't like What iqe were dong at the time . So does it Have the potential to get to those highs again ? | grity
18/7/2017 17:55 | hxxp://www.trustedre Iphone8 reveal 11/12th September hopefully .. | bauchsapt
18/7/2017 17:39 | There's only so much money you need. There's little point in leaving money in the casino if you've reached 'enough' and have fulfilled your 'I was right' investment ambitions. I'm hoping the IMS doesn't emerge in the morning as I'm out to Asador again tonight. 🍷 | hammerd2
18/7/2017 17:02 | I think it is always sensible to avoid over exposure to any single investment or sector. But you have to balance that with the characteristic that generally separates the best investors: an ability to cut your losses and run your winners. If anyone had bought into IQE around the 20p mark, I couldn't blame them for selling half of their holding right now. To double your money and be left holding half of your original shareholding at no cost is always a result. And the maths get even better if you are greedy enough to hold on to 125p! | mad foetus
18/7/2017 16:52 | I really don't understand why one would sell a share "regardless of it's potential to go much higher". Surely future prospects are always one of the factors one should take into account unless the cash is needed out of the market. I've regretted selling too soon and read of others who wish they hadn't. I accept that there's a point, however, where one can be satisfied and perhaps, sweenoid, with your 'all in' approach to IQE, you will have reached a personal target and be happy to, partially or fully, retire. I rather hope not the latter though as, like others, I appreciate your informative posts. | aimingupward2
18/7/2017 16:31 | I am pretty sure that guy is NOT a Dr.( medical or PhD) so best not address him as such, am I right? S I get my BA(Hons) History degree module result tomorrow - I expect to be celebrating on two fronts :-) tick tock tick tock as for the 125pthat is my price target, I will not likely sell before that ( macro economic situations can change). What I decide to do when we get to that share price is really conjecture, but the stock market is about banking profits and that figure looks sweet to me, regardless of its potential to go much higher. S | sweenoid
18/7/2017 16:18 | Dr S Java download is required in order to get instant prices.. I know they are instant as I follow my every order just to be sure the pricing is correct and sure enough it is exactly so... Although from time to time it will go through as a sell rather than a buy or visa versa which indicates that one should not trust the buyer/seller column as a true representation of the ebb and flow of the dealing day. | sailastra
18/7/2017 10:13 | Put £1 into a trading account at HL and you get live prices.. | tony68000
18/7/2017 09:59 | Dr Smith, not sure what you mean by a CFD scenario. I've just got an SB account and the workspace view is great. | sheep_herder |
