20/7/2017 07:42 | It's worth going back to the Peel Hunt analyst note from June which said that 'any indication from IQE that new capex is required would imply that our more optimistic scenarios are within reach'. I read into this that we're looking at EPS of the order of 15p or more in less than 2 years. That's before looking at additions other than photonics. I don't really care what happens to the share price today or tomorrow - what's clear is that it's going to get a lot higher in the coming months. Cheap as chips indeed! | dpmeyer
20/7/2017 07:41 | It's the sort if IMS investors can only dream about. It's ultimately totally bullish but delivered in a controlled, moderated , professional manner. Management are obviously aware of the built up expectations and have delivered a statement that is full of promise, optimism and momentum. The share price should always reflect potential GROWTH,what does this statement say, let me sum it up. "IQE is at an inflection point in terms of its revenue generation, it supplies technologies that will be huge money-earners and grow exponentially.it has and is expanding to deliver a large rise in demand, at negligible cost and risk.In the VCSEL market which is the near-mid term driver for performance it is the technolgy and innovation leader, so much so that it has secured MULTIPLE MULTI-YEAR contract wins for the ramp becoming now, remember it's use for 3D sensing and TOF ( time of flight autofocusing) will likely feature in EVERY smartphone within a few years starting with the new Apple and Huawei models 2017.IQE will beat analyst expectations and frankly those expectations are history and FURTHER upward revisions will have to be made. IQE is acknowledging itself as a HUGE GROWTH company,it should and will be re-rated, particularly after the full picture is revealed on September 5th, I am more than delighted with this IMS. The fact that next year RF Power and GAN will join the high profile earning party ( huge market-with dwarf even VCSELS) is a mouth-watering prospect. I couldn't give a fig what happens to the share price today but obviously expect a rise, this IMS signals that my share price target of 125p is easily attainable within 6 months if not well before, I will comment again after close, there will be a lot of 'noise' here today, I won't be participating The mid term picture is my focus, but for today, I see a prolonged auction and then 'I predict a riot' ;-) I have reread the statement 3 times and knowing the company and what I believe is their 'understated' position the following extract ( they were ALWAYS going to beat FY analyst expectations, but I feared they may not say it) is just MAGICAL , if you understand the implications :-) :-) Cheapest chips in town under 100p The Group is engaged in a range of programmes which provide significant upside potential to its near and mid-term growth expectations. These include VCSEL, GaN for RF and power, full service DFB wafers, InfraRed and cREO(TM). The start of the mass-market ramp for VCSEL wafers marks an inflection point in the commercialisation of this technology. The Group has secured multiple, multi-year contracts for this VCSEL ramp which reflects its strong competitive advantages including its technology leadership and its proven track record in delivering wafers into high volume consumer markets S | sweenoid
20/7/2017 07:40 | 'multiple, multi-year contracts' suggests multiple customers who may well be those companies supplying Apple with VCSEL tech. 'Multi-year' suggests confidence well into the future and I bet it all revolves around the development and continued development of the I-Phone brand It could well be that Cardiff CC were made aware of such contractual developments and acted upon them | gersemi
20/7/2017 07:39 | Urgently required expansion I think! In parallel, the Group has placed orders for new MOCVD equipment. | taffy100
20/7/2017 07:35 | I wonder if we start off in auction this morning! | owenga
20/7/2017 07:34 | Very, very impressive statement. This has so much further to go. | blueflame

Not just hoping for the future... contracts already in the bag! | owenga
20/7/2017 07:25 | I wonder how long before the miopic start complaining about the required upcoming CAPEX increases ? I'll give it about 20 mins :-) Those new reactors in H2 2018 don't come cheap, but think of the returns !! | hammerd2
20/7/2017 07:23 | 'marks the start of increased VCSEL wafer demand for mass-market consumer applications' Apple I-Phone? | gersemi
20/7/2017 07:23 | Id say 18 is correct. It's probably a 12mth process to get new premises, tool up and ramp up production. | darola
20/7/2017 07:20 | Confused. Do they really mean h2 2018 or h2 2017?. Looks very promising though. | owenga |
