20/7/2017 11:10 | This is also the best performing stock I hold, but closely followed by Bango, on a similar trajectory at present with seemingly lots of head room yet | mark_jm
20/7/2017 11:09 | I expect £1 will be a pausing point as many investors will have set it as a target sell not expecting it to get there so soon. (Level 2 analysis anyone?). It is certainly ahead of my expectations however it is now plain even from this board that a lot of PIs and IIs are piling in which pushes the uptick ever higher. It is behaving just like ARM of which I have very fond memories as it was my biggest ever multibagger but with a bigger stake from low levels it looks like IQE is going to be an even better money-spinner. Thank you to Sweenoid as he helped me keep the faith when it dropped below 20p and i instead bought more. If ever I meet you (S) the drinks are on me. | tonsil
20/7/2017 11:08 | I suspect it may be taken over, because if the market they supply is going to be bull for 5-10 years it makes sense for someone to "take them out". I'm hoping it doesn't happen but am realistic. If they are bought I cannot imagine it would be for less than £2 in todays market, but who knows what we may think in a years time... | richardc77
20/7/2017 11:01 | Like the look of these will make a purchase soon | ny boy
20/7/2017 10:52 | JNUG is 3x shoirt mini gold miners likely fall below $12 before gold bottoms. Good luck, suspect IQE will be either taken over but nearing £2 by then. Hope not former. | edjge2
20/7/2017 10:48 | I think the thing that many don't realise is that this is just the start. The momentum from this VCSEL ramp is going to be replicated, not with the same royalty rate unfortunately, in many other markets that IQE supply. Just go and look at the LDMOS market for switching power supplies alone. Those who have time to stick this away in a pension or ISA should be buying as much as they can and not thinking about it for 10 years. My opinion is that the markets they're addressing will be in growth phases for that length of time. | sheep_herder
20/7/2017 10:46 | £1 hit - been tipped to smash 1.50-£2 region over the coming weeks!!! I've been in since 40p days :-) I bought more this morning at 90p as this is worth 2,3 times this level easily!! | potential
20/7/2017 10:43 | Definitely the best performing share in my portfolio by a country mile. Happy days. About to tip in to the £1 territory as well. | tini5
20/7/2017 10:43 | Maybe I shouldn't have sold half my holding at 91p. Hard to judge this share trading melarkey. | volsung
20/7/2017 10:41 | The £ is coming, we can then start talking about £2 :) | spursspurs
20/7/2017 10:40 | In auction with a quid beckoning. | skinny
20/7/2017 10:38 | ramridge - yes they have a technical advantage. Read their website, read the documentation available for cREO, read up on the etching process that they now do in house, look at their market position and capacity, look at papers produced with their development partners. There will always be other wafer manufacturers but whether they can come close to the cost per wafer of IQE is another question. | sheep_herder
20/7/2017 10:36 | Belatedly bought some IQE this morning. Shame I did not do so a while back. GLAH. | shanklin
20/7/2017 10:33 | @rivaldo 3247: IQE have a tax credit situation meaning that their tax charge is exceptionally low. Last year the tax charge was only about 2% of profits. So that 40% upgrade figure ("on a fully-taxed basis") from N+1 Singer is likely, imo, to be severely understated. | galatea99
20/7/2017 10:31 | £1 a good start and might hold. Missed the 92p drop back for another top up | edjge2
20/7/2017 10:30 | Highest historical vol!!! | potential
20/7/2017 10:21 | Min £1.20 this week !!! | potential
20/7/2017 10:17 | £1 today? | daijavu
20/7/2017 10:16 | N+1 Singer have a 106p target price at present. They haven't yet adjusted their forecasts for today's RNS, but note that: "we believe that the 10th anniversary iPhone opportunity alone could deliver 40%+ upgrades on a fully taxed basis (to the exit run rate in FY’18). We also believe the group is engaged in other 3D sensing opportunities beyond the iPhone and expect strong volumes from GaN on Silicon and full service DFB wafers." Too early for me to support figures being thrown around of 15p EPS, ten-baggers etc. But the upside here has looked terrific from the 20p-30p days and continues to do so. | rivaldo
20/7/2017 10:02 | Today's trading update is very bullish. The key focus is on the production of VCSEL wafers and their adoption for mass market consumer products. "The Group has secured multiple, multi-year contracts for this VCSEL ramp" . So we are seeing a capacity expansion plan on the back of real contracts. As the RNS says, " a more significant upgrade to current market expectations could be delivered for 2018" . This company is not known for making wildly optimistic statements. PDYOR. In particular please note that IQE faces a lot of competition from major VCSEL wafer manufacturers internationally. Perhaps posters here could tell me if they have any "unique selling proposition" that gives IQE an edge? | ramridge
20/7/2017 09:42 | For those who have never seen the massive white elephant that is what was going to be the flagship inward investment amazeballsery of the "LG" buildings in Newport (IIRC entirely paid for by us taxpayers) - I use "" because they never actually moved into any of it (again IIRC) - the scope for FURTHER FUTURE expansion for firms involved with the CS Cluster is absolutely staggering. Now, there is one definite contender for lead tenant status for a huge lump of the available real estate should all ducks stand resolutely to attention. Here's a pic | hammerd2
20/7/2017 09:26 | I wish Peel Hunt had used the term, "Tier 1 smartphone manufacturers" instead of "Apple and friends". Would save so much pain. | sheep_herder
20/7/2017 09:23 | Apple have no deal with IQE, IQE supply others who supply Apple (for instance). It is a different kettle of fish. | richardc77
20/7/2017 09:19 | I don't think there's any reason this can't ten bag from here. Once the GaN power market comes online in 5 years, that's when it'll kick on again. But I would have thought the VCSEL ramp up over the next 3 years would 2-3 bag from here. That 15p EPS estimate looks tasty. | sheep_herder |
