13/6/2013 09:26 | Thanks for the explanations all, you learn a little every day :) | diggulden
13/6/2013 08:49 | Digg.Quote system brokers use. L2 shows what mms are up in their NMS - normal market size e.g WNTS 5k @ 217... that means they are obliged to make a market in that size of stock.Sometimes they want more than that so if broker feeds quote into machine then it sometimes bids/offers a larger amount - saves broker having to make a call to market.I noticed last week (and mentioned to a few on here) wins were lead bidding mm for ages... today confirmed my duspicions again. They were sat at 215 when next highest mm was at 210. | supreme mo
13/6/2013 08:44 | the mkt makers shoa price on LSE - but they also quote prices electronically to brokers which may differ to that on thge screen - so - assume the LSE px is 220 - 230 5k by 10k the RSP quote could be 222.5 to 228 2.5k by 5k - basically a broker requests a price electronically and all the mkt makers (that the broker has signed up for their RSP service) can reposnd with a price which may or may not be better than the screen price. When you deal through an online broker using DMA it's the RSP electronic engine you're really dealing with.. It is not uncommon for the mkt to look up but all the RSP's offering gob loads of stock. perhaps not well explained but am feeling a little weary this morning. | verymaryhinge
13/6/2013 08:38 | RSP quotes? Do educate me! | diggulden
13/6/2013 08:38 | VMH checked last week and they were up in 10k.Now they are bidding for 15k... | supreme mo
13/6/2013 08:30 | Loved the way you weaved a subtle weather forecast into that last post supreme | king_roster_iii
13/6/2013 08:29 | i wouldn't make any assumptions when it comes to L2 on any stock - what you can't see are the RSP quotes.. | verymaryhinge
13/6/2013 08:29 | Chris Fay did say... 'maybe more' so that would be a bonus. No mention of the mini's which of course will add to the 4-6. | the librarian
13/6/2013 08:29 | another brutal day in the market, We have now had a 10% correction in the market, it would be good to see a consolidation at this level at least. j. | jonnyno1
13/6/2013 08:27 | Has anyone noticed that over the past week or so (before, during and after the fall) that winterfloods have been the highest mm on the bid for most of the time. Wouldn't surprise me if they have a big buy order imo. | supreme mo
13/6/2013 08:27 | Just for the record so there is no hindsight, and going on the roll out just quoted, 4 more this year and 6 to 8 next. it seems they are going into OK. Those plants up to full speed imo will do 4000-6000mt imo after hard research. So I'll stick that post number in the header, and feel free to shoot me down in a years time, assuming delivery of the roll out and up to full speed, no shots will be fired, I'm sure of that. | superg1
13/6/2013 07:39 | 3 forks again and the main lead in the 3 forks is Continental. They are bullish again and have recoverable reserve estimates way above what the USGS said. The first paragraph on another play rang bells for me too, but that's another story, and is probably meaningless to most, but I did a lot of research on that one. | superg1
13/6/2013 07:30 | Fresh voice re 1768 an ADVFN competitor give a breakdown of buys/sells/uncertain The buys outdid the sells NBC about 300000 with Uncertains around 140000 | skasher094
13/6/2013 07:26 | Re io2 and that 3rd pipe going on. I had my own thoughts as to why that hadn't happened (lower ppm from old brines). It was also obvious from reading various reports on mid-states, that they have put/are putting in new pipeline's to transport the brine from the new Miss play wells to the SWD's including where io2 is. More recently 'bits and pieces' suggest that is the case, so I think the top end 50% upgrade is probably below the potential upgrade for io2. On supply I believe there wasn't a lot a round late in the day and certainly one supply that would have amounted to a few 100k shares has gone. No-one my end, or the main guys. As I say it's done. Yes I do do think we will get positive updates and the 19th won't be a disappointment imo. On planned, it seems that way, as they instantly had a company secretary announced, a role that Lance covered in the past. I understand he is highly rated as Matrix says, and it seems we are right with our best guess. That wasn't difficult as a few of us thought it was obviously him. So the team building goes on, to take IOF to the next level. The impression I got from many yesterday, who are well placed and got answers, is that the accelerator pedal will continue to be pressed, with a dynamic CEO sought to ensure we go onto the next level. Once again don't forget, dozens of my friends are invested, one reason I use this BB for, is an easy message system to convey my understanding of the current position. So in short, I think, after a lot of research yesterday, that things are very well placed. | superg1
13/6/2013 07:04 | There were a lot of buys reported after the bell yesterday, must have taken up a lot of the available stock, looks like they were waiting for just such an opportunity. Be interesting to see how much is left to mop up this morning? | the librarian
13/6/2013 00:44 | "Shorters wil be pleased as they have got out lightly" You think? | n3tleylucas
13/6/2013 00:29 | From all at the Somerset Arms - get well soon Lance! If your ever in Cheletenham for R&R please pop in for a Rioja :) Much deliberations over the darts tonight - interesting day with many topping up. We decided that as the BOD have not let us down in the past then this was a planned release to coincide with good news very soon Obviously we are all just a bunch of PI with our own personnel views but the track record from the BOD announcements has always been in line with the research - funny that! That said we think ( fantasy IOF BOD game again) that the news/ production update )will be along before the AGM. We all agreed that you get the bad news all out of the way before the good news. After all , it's all about momentum from now on in. Shorters wil be pleased as they have got out lightly but the interesting fact is that there are few instil that are panicking - infact the big buys at the end show exactly that. Whilst we all agree this is a tempory set back it still represents an excellent time to top up,if you have the funds. Good luck to Sky and Mrs Sky on the impending birth of number 2 - probably at 6am ish tomorrow am from all at the Somerset Arms:) | 24ricardo
13/6/2013 00:26 | Escape How do you know it was a buy? I assume you mean an individual buying from someone offering the shares, depending on the time it was actually transacted at that price it could be either. | freshvoice
