I don't think there is a 'hidden' IOF site, but only SuperG can confirm or deny that. If there is, I'm not part of it and I also supplied my email address.

Instead, I think that SuperG himself is posting less quite deliberately, and less lengthy detailed posts in an attempt to keep this board from being an obvious source of information for any takeover predator.
I'm not sure if that will work, but it is what I believe is happening.

Finally, there is not much going on right now, we are in limbo news-wise.
You do see the odd long-standing IOF poster such as Librarian, Scrutable, SuperG, Skylite and Sandbag posting the odd comment, but there isn't really much to talk about right now.

Just been reading with interest what some are putting about another site and their feelings on it, I like many others read with interest the info on here don't ramp and don't troll so I also feel a bit put out by this, does make you feel a bit suspicious of peoples intentions hope I am wrong

it has been a slow news week malachey, most are enjoying the summer/ dangerous heat wave (delete as appropriate) and waiting for the next update. We all know there is news coming just not what order exactly or how soon.

If the purpose of moving to another site is to remove the trolls then fair enough - good idea - but there seem to be a few regular posters, including me, who are certainly not trolls and who have suddenly found themselves in the dark.

I am invested up to my high teeth in this company, so I am sure you can appreciate it is somewhat alarming to suddenly lose such a valuable resource.

Not sure I'm buying that one Lib. There has been a sudden and almost total drop off in all posts from regular posters from about tuesday onwards...

The new site has been up and running for a while now, hence the distinct absence of regular posts by the masters of the universe.

Its all about power and control.

What's this about a new site? I put my details on a list way back, but have heard nowt about it.

And another thing - my Cougar dating advert has now been replaced with one for Sewage Pumping Systems. Something to do with getting the trolls off here?

I also assumed the idea had been abandoned - otherwise it was a complete waste of time asking for everyone's email addresses and it makes me a bit uncomfortable wondering why such a lot of effort was put into getting people to request membership and to give their email addresses. It's completely up to the individuals, of course, who they want to converse with offline and that's fine, but I would like some reassurance that people's personal information that they supplied in good faith isn't being used for something else (just knowing why the list was kept to a few individuals - maybe there were limitations on the site, maybe they didn't want too many posts, maybe it is still in testing phase etc - would also be enough and I can't see that this has to be something shrouded in secrecy [not very secret, since it was declared, LOL]).

I really don't want to make a big issue out of this, but I do find the way it's been set up (by gaining information from people under what now seems to be false pretences) unethical.

Could be worse malachey. I've been posting since the 40p days and apparantly I didn't make the cut either :)

EDIT: To be fair I handed out my address in person at the presentation rather than posting it to the forum so it's not surprising if I got missed.

Hm, I had assumed the new site idea had been abandoned. I got a message from Sg ages ago asking for my email so I assumed I had been included on the 'guest list', but I never heard any more about it. Wrong side of the velvet rope again... :-(

lib - try the firefox browser with the adblock plus extension. for me advfn is unusable without it.

roboben - is there a new site set up? If so could you let me know the details. I think I gave you my email at the investor presentation (if not battery, pcjoe + a few others have it).
