it appears to me as though stops are being hit on spread betting or positions are being closed because of contract end on 13th December.
There may of course be a few shorts around but I am not worried about situation although share price is annoying where it is for the time being,

there is a block of 48k sitting at 150......and some say shares aren't manipulated! Crazy!

Just sayin - like I wouldn't want anyone to do it this but you could pass a happy hour opening up alerts all over the place - different shares, different threads . . . Of course, you'd have to remember to add someone elses email address.

Even the 100k sale at 15.30 reported late ( why the price collapsed?) didn't make the total traded look much higher than recent days. Still low volumes, makes price easy to move

it looks like a buy from the 9th dec.

BoggIe. If you can put a fictitious email why not use an advfn email address? This way they should loop around their system until they do something pro active about it?

Chaps, to get rid of the email etc advfn alerts; go to the top of this page and click the ALERTS tab, the page will refresh, at the bottom of which you have email etc options. Click on the eg email picture and it brings up a page with your email address and the threads you read in a list. I deleted all the threads in the list and changed my email to a fictitious one. Thats put a stop to it.

Have just gone on to two other boards and that box was un-ticked so it's looking good.

I found I was having this problem too. I went onto the HELP board and it provided a link to where I could stop these alerts appearing on my mobile (68 this afternoon). It seems to have stopped. However when I logged in just now I find that the box referred to by johnc (on this board at least) was ticked. I will need to watch whether I really have blocked these alerts or whether they re-start each time I log in.
