11/12/2013 10:45 | new note just released Investment Case-Unique iodine investment opportunity Iofina offers a unique investment opportunity within the iodine industry. Iodine fundamentals are set to remain attractive with Iofina excellently positioned as the low cost producer. The shares offer a favourable risk/reward balance and with compelling valuation merit investment. The shares are trading on a 2015 PE and EV/EBITDA multiples of 12.1 and 10.1 respectively. The valuations overall compare most favourably with both the UK oilfield services sector as well as the chemical sector. Strategic issues Production rollout to absorb market demand Iofina is focused on establishing itself as a material producer of iodine and iodine chemical derivatives through its three core businesses: Processing of mid‐stream third party brine streams; Speciality Chemical division for vertical integration in iodine derivatives and other halogens; Recycling of iodine using iodinated sidestreams from waste chemical. Iofina's immediate business strategy is to identify, develop, build, own and operate iodine extraction plants currently focused in North America based on Iofina's WET® IOsorb technology. The key business growth driver is co‐produced brine water from third party natural gas and oil wells which drives iodine production, which in turn drives the chemical business and allows iodine recycling. Plant IO#1 and IO#2 provide the blueprint for a rapid rollout of many plants thus enabling a potential of triple digit growth over the coming years. The IO#1 plant was commissioned in late August 2012 and the IO#2 plant successfully commissioned in January 2013. Construction of IO#3 has been completed and is now in production. Locations for IO#4, IO#5 and IO#6 have been selected and procurement of plant equipment is largely complete and site leasing is in progress. IO#4, IO#5 and IO#6 were scheduled for completion in Q4 2013 but timeframe is now Q1 2014. With these plants fully operational annualised production will be around 700-1000mt of crystallised iodine. Planning for additional plants in 2014 is being currently undertaken. Recent interims revealed record revenues at $11.6m and losses of $124,410 and a cash balance of $16.2m following the $15m convertible bond issue in May 2013. Iodine industry fundamentals are set to remain attractive with tight supply/demand balances forecasted. Prices should remain around $55/kg even though prices havehave eased slightly in recent weeks. 11/12/2013 08:23 | I've noticed that the "current" price and hence the % up/down tends to often only get updated when it's a sell with Iofina. I presume this is a mm game to try to scare PIs into thinking that the price is dropping more than it really is? If so, it's a little frightening how stupid they think people are! | ![]() woodpeckers

11/12/2013 08:21 | Is it possible that one of the reasons for the constant drop is that people are still spread betting this (something I have never or would never do with any share)and the MMs know they can pick up shares by way of a large drop in the share price from time to time? If so, people...stop with the SBs...please! | ![]() warmsun

11/12/2013 07:59 | Croc8 - entirely agree. Investors just need to focus on the fundamentals and value will out. Many here will have seen this scenario before, many times no doubt. | orslega

11/12/2013 07:50 | So my question to investors here is, what has changed? We have patented technology that allows the extraction of iodine from brines at an opex lower than any other in the industry. Our competitors are closing down production, where we are able to increase ours, and take advantage. Our capex for our equipment is very low compared to our competitors, who cannot grow their production, even if they wanted to. We have secured a very large number of brine leases across a wide area, where iodine has been proven to be present at a high level. This excludes any competitor from extracting iodine in those areas, ad infinitum. Our biggest non-fund shareholders are either on the BOD or very close to the board, and they have not sold any shares. We have the water news pending, and according to phones calls I have made to the public body processing the application, it is progressing well. All this remains the same. The only major change over the past few months is the one pointed out regularly by Lib. Whilst PI's offload their shares the II's keep hovering them up. Why do you think that is? As I have said before, be patient, and Iofina will deliver. | ![]() croc8

11/12/2013 00:21 | May be a big drop but the number of shares traded is still very low, it's the MM calling the tune, not a large number of people bailing out. | freshvoice
