30/5/2013 18:20 | Just picking though what you have said there superg. So the comment was about Iofina and SQM are aware of what they can do? SQM are unlikely to put in a bid because the others will 'fall' first? For them to fall or fail surely the price will be going down and SQM won't like that! Derivatives companies are more likely to pick off IOF because of the impact upon them. What about the likes of Toyota Tsusho? | the librarian
30/5/2013 17:17 | I understand the 'new entrants' comment in SQM's recent results (lithium and iodine) is centred around IOF on the iodine side. Earnings call for SQM today so we'll see what comes up in the Q and A session. The biggest threat to IOF being taken out on the iodine side isn't iodine producers imo. If IOF are planning to push all production through the Chem div in time, then it's goodbye IOF iodine imo. The reason being some rather large Chem divs would suffer big revenue losses and customers. certain companies have to pay top prices for iodine and they simply could not compete with IOF doing vertical integration for all their produced iodine. If IOF were to go to a certain level on integration re their niche products and new custom as in India, combined with supplying the raw product to end users then I can see them staying as they are. On the raw product side, Algorta, Scm Bullmine and Sirocco would all be gone before it could seriously affect SQM. That probably amounts to 4000mt plus extra for small players they mention. add in 1000-1500mt per year increased demand and there is room for IOF. It seems US end users would be keen to buy off them anyway, as indicated recently. So that's what I'd like to see, most production sold as the raw product (post aggressive roll out), but pick off new customers, along with their new niche products. The fact they mention expanding for large scale prilling helps on that front, prilling makes it easier for customers to handle and process. | superg1
30/5/2013 17:04 | On water rights the ND site does seem way behind at times and they had a desk-load of applications held up at one point by the corps. I'm wondering on the Montana side whether they will list it after the issues before. The listing on that site doesn't matter, as there is one list that can't be avoided at a certain point in the process. Same old problem I see on the prices, it might show 232-233, but try and buy some at those levels and it takes off. | superg1

30/5/2013 16:24 | Engelo. Aggre.. such a simple exersise in using the informatiom flow and market dynamics to the advantage of the little guy. If you are not a frequent trader, you might think that such a reputial co as HL. Could flag up a 'warning' smaller bites could average you a lower price, 'BUT ASLO THE PRICE COULD MOVE UP AND COST YOU MORE' Ok, that does not sound practical. Just be carefull out there folks, forget the name of the cop program, but the Sergeant always finished the morning briefing with... Be carefull out there... ! | beercapafn

30/5/2013 16:09 | beercapfn: have had exactly the same experience using HL, and if the dealing charges are low your solution works well (although not always) :-). Would be interesting to know how others get on with other brokers in this situation. | engelo

30/5/2013 15:36 | Hi all - haven't posted here before but bought in for the first time late March having ignored the advice of my brother to do so last year. Topped up twice more at inopportune moments but in for the long haul. Great board & great research - has helped keep this novice investor's nerves steady over the past couple of months, and you are all now doing a great job of not engaging with trolls! Well done! freshvoice - try this link: http://www.swc.nd.go Enter a number in the Permit Number box and take the tick out of 'Retrieve Only Active Permits'. The newest one seems to be 6528, and I have been back to 6475 but haven't found anything. Hope you have more luck? | yorkshiret
30/5/2013 15:33 | I watched it all happen as I was making some smaller purchase lots at the same time at a gnat's whisker lower, also on HL. For some reason yours showed and mine didn't. | chumbo
30/5/2013 15:27 | Nice work beercapafn, looks like you have mopped up the bargains ahead of Uriney. | urbanyeti
30/5/2013 15:11 | Edit... sorry missed that the quote for 50k money at one go was £ 2.37p.7 buys at 10k (70k) = £2.32p. Hope that now makes more sence. | beercapafn
30/5/2013 15:07 | Was on hl. And asked for 50k money, shares was quoted on auto trade, made 7 seperate buys of 10k money all at 2.32p. Makes you think of the power of MM. So payed 7 × 11.95 trade costs = 87 quid... saved 1500 quid capital costs. Hope this helps thouse who move larger than average amounts, works on selling also. | beercapafn

30/5/2013 12:06 | Www.swc.state.nd.us/ You can download all data on water sites here. Haven't found applications in progress yet. | freshvoice
30/5/2013 11:49 | Yes good find CK. Question, do we think the ND permit application will be RNS'd? Do we think it has already gone in? If not, why not? Maybe just going for MT instead of ND as well now? Seems strange to delay it. | diggulden |
