Then write to the planners with your concern it'll be lithium and demand they reject the proposal unless it's safe and clean tech like, say, vanadium. They always have the plans available for you to comment on.

Invinity could do with some of this!

"In the past two weeks, Tesla has secured new Megapack contracts worth a combined ~$800 million, totaling nearly 2.4 GWh of battery projects."

Ripple Energy ought to enhance their crowd funded solar and wind projects with batteries.

an energy storage project would be a good opportunity for crowdfunding- it would represent an attractive long term investment to green investors and one that would give a decent return

It's some what of a chicken and egg for ies on a few fronts. To win large contracts c 300 MWh they have to show they have the manufacturing capability to deliver with the UK they are now addressing.

Then there is the energy companies like above who are building systems to sell on or keep for their income stream. Companies like this want proven revenue models with historical data . As mistral is still to launch that data isn't and available they have stated one of the benefits of staking and part owning the batteries is they will have access to this very important data. Not sure what timescale is needed 1 year ..2 years it's probably subjective.

From what I gather above this company have self funded this 300 MWh battery tied to a 6 gw energy investment. I saw they sold off a smaller investment . There are a number of energy companies set up to buy or build systems to sell or pay dividends to its shareholders . Once they can tap into this sort of funding arrangement it's game on. Just need the data to stack up when it's available .

I've glanced at the planning application but can't see what type of battery is proposed ie whether it is lithium or otherwise.

Check out the turnaround in some of SAE's financials

2023 Financial Highlights include:

· The Group reported a profit of £23.2m, compared with a 2022 loss of £11.1m.

· Increase of 292% in Group revenue to £15.3m (2022: £3.9m).

· Revenues available to the Group, which excludes ring-fenced revenue earned by the MeyGen tidal array, rose to £10.7 million (2022: £nil) . The sale, at Uskmouth, of a ready-to-build 230MW BESS project with a grid connection for £10.0 million accounted for the majority of 2023 revenues, with the balance of £0.7 million being rental income from the Uskmouth site.

· Net Assets increased 678% to £44.2m (2022: £5.7m). The major increase in the valuation of the Group arises from the reassessment of the value and size of our battery storage projects.
