Oh yes. Can't see any reason why we won't be at 300p within 12 months (if you can wait that long). This is a growth story with a long way to run. Just count ourselves lucky we got in at such a good price. Not sure that chance will come again in the short term.

I got in at 193p after seeing the director buy last week. Have been following them for ages after the profit warning but didn't buy in. Have you seen the broker buy tip from December on the Investor relations part of their website. A fantastic story, heavily discounted because of a one-off fault in production line.
Its now gone up 19p on about 10000 buys. The MMs are not going to give this share away on the cheap. Looking good....

And another nice tick up today. I could get used to this boredom. What price did you get in at Beckaroo?

Couldn't agree more. I suspect these will continue to perform over the long term.

Nice to see the director buying last week and also the good results from Clinton Cards suggesting that their is still lots of growth in the wrapping paper/cards industry. With these things and the results in two months time, I expect we will start to see a rise in share price over the next few months. I predict 250p after results, with only the lack of trades leading to boredom the only significant risk.

Pre-tax profits 30% at the interims. UK gift wrap back on track. Share price up 8% on the day. Growth back on target. Keep buying!!

Tomorrow's the big day with the interims. I predict they will have sorted out the gift wrap problem and the shares will get back on track although there has been a nice lift in the last couple of months. I think the important thing to remember was that in the gift wrap debacle it was an internal problem which hit margins rather than customers so they didn't lose ground in the market place. Plus, Anders Hedlund the joint chief exec took charge of the operation and as he has approx £60m worth of shares in the company it's in his interests to get it right!

Fingers crossed.

My post of 23 May (no. 2 above) turns out not to have been too wide of the mark. The UK gift wrap business (where the problems have been) has accounted for 37% of revenue, and profits have fallen 1.6M rather than the 1.5M surmised. There's a good deal of postive news in the final report for the year and I remain positive about IGR. Unfortunately I bought in too soon, but I am confident of recovering my losses in the coming months.

I emailed IGR with a list of questions last week and this has been ignored.
So on the basis of what info. I can find let me partially answer my own questions above. The gift wrap section accounts for about 40% of total business (last annual report), so a fairly large whack. There is, however, a US gift wrap business, but the problems were confined to the UK gift wrap business. However, the UK bit so far as I can determine is somewhat larger - let's suppose for the sake of argument that it accounts for 30% or maybe about 1/3 of total group business.

Next factor is that almost 75% of group profits are in the second half of the year and only ~25% in first half. Last year ptp was £10.5M. So if we assume pro-rata profit generation across the business the profits on the second half year derived from the UK gift wrap business amount to approx. £2.5 M (the breakdown by business sector is not given in the annual report). So when they talk about 'a serious impact on profitability' it's a question of how much of a dent there is in the £2.5 M. Any analysts forecasts that I have seen now predict this year's ptp to be down about £1.5M (i.e. UK gift wrap makes only £1M this year). So with profits down about 15% and a share price drop of ~ 35% (from last year's ave. of ~ £3.50) the shares look cheap - assuming they were worth £3.50 in the first place.

On the other hand if 'a serious impact on profitability' means a loss in the UK gift wrap section, then the share price is probably about where it deserves to be.

All of which makes me marginally on the positive side of neutral, but only marginally. Longer term I think IGR should display a decent recovery from the set-back, whatever it was.

DYOR and hopefully you can find a bit more information on which to draw conclusions than I can.

The problem in nov. 01 occured in the gift wrap section of the business. They obviously have other sections to their business and, throughout, the message has been that these other sections are operating well up to expectations. Do you know what percentage of the overall turnover and overall profits have been contributed by the gift wrap section in the past?

they have now sorted out the production problems that sent the share price falling and restructured to cut losses, this share is oversold and cheap IMHO.

company statement says current trading in line with expectations. check it out!
