04/9/2008 13:13 | Bought in today - AGM in a couple of weeks, chart double bottomed - good news at the AGM I suspect, hence the buying starting is my guess. CR | cockneyrebel
04/9/2008 10:32 | Yes, interesting buying again. Here's a little about Sheryl Tye. -Sheryl Anne Tye (formerly Gomer) FCA, ATII, BSc is aged 51 and is also a director of Diagonal Management Ltd. | psolomons
04/9/2008 10:32 | Poster on iii is prone to making statements that, at best, don't hold up with time and at worst are illegal. They may or may not be true in this case, but I would stick with your own gut feelings and research. | lincoln_green
04/9/2008 10:11 | New fd and lots of buys again. any truth in rumour that 'due to increased orders 80 redundancies south wales retracted?' Any happy employees to give us a clue? (poster on iii discussion site). Any one familiar with New FD? Shall we see some (her) director buying now? - would be nice! | gelp
25/8/2008 08:30 | Agreed: incredible growth potential worldwide & proven ability.any significant further weakness now in share price would surely make sitting duck for MBO or buy out by others in the sector. Interesting no mention of any approaches so far. W control in hands of founders any external offer would have to be very substantial.£200 million of sales, well spread out world wide Halloween and others loss areas nullified, prospects of further consolidation, and a stronger dollar to enhance US performances, commitment to growth last year despite the cleaning up operations in progress, blue chip clients and licences. I live in a small town and 3 card/gift shops seem to thrive despite other regular closures & other multiple outlets stock the stuff. | gelp
24/8/2008 23:18 | Pretty miserable share price response to the figures. Having said that if the city really does look 6 months or so down the line then expect some recovery soon. My guess is that the company is returning to profit after a major review and restructuring which will mean a considerable re rating in time. Any suggestion of a return to dividend would be warmly welcomed too. I will look at any further falls as buying opportunities. This must be seen as a medium term hold in my view, the rewards could be substantial though. | psolomons
21/8/2008 08:52 | About half of that extra for earnings enhancing aquisitions(inc debt) and £8 mill was for associate investments - again presumably based on e/enhancements. Shows commitment to growth , spreading of risk/reward, opportunism, whatever the localised hiccup - handled now very clinically it seems. I don't think the extra debt was unplanned or a surprise. Bound to be some cos of losses and right offs. There are some sales planned. | gelp
21/8/2008 08:30 | not sure i like this though: Net debt at 31 March 2008 amounted to £64.8 million, compared to £38.0 million last year | mister md
21/8/2008 08:22 | Takes some digesting but clean slate, 69mi NAV after what are surely very ample provisons, already 5 months into new year, remaining operations showing growth and profit potential. Perhaps a tax holiday for a while as well! With mc at £15mill looks ok to me and the bank - 90 mill OD facility confirmed! | gelp
21/8/2008 08:19 | The numbers seems pretty much in line with expectations. I like this comment 'In particular,we have a healthy forward order book for the Christmas 2008 season'. Steady move up i suggest. | psolomons
19/8/2008 15:28 | The drop is not as a result of the numbers or it would appear large sales. So its likely to be a tree shake by mm's trying to scare out a few before the results are known. dont forget quite a few people have bought in the run up to the figures so there is an expectation that things are improving. | psolomons
19/8/2008 15:21 | I've seen a drop of 9% on results being announced, but never of the announcement of the results being announced! Anyone with some more knowledge than me like to hazard a guess at the results? Its more likely to be the info about current trading that impacts on the share price on Thursday. | slong
19/8/2008 11:28 | Confirmed as thursday for the numbers. | psolomons
16/8/2008 20:21 | Thanks Gelp, will be watching with interest !! | psolomons
16/8/2008 18:13 | Trading update on Thursday according to Teletext | gelp
16/8/2008 10:06 | Sheila another discussion board suggests 250 redundancies in Wales, but long term future(due to bulky items not practical China) full order book so future looks really bright for remaining staff and shareholders. I guess you are one of the lucky ones! apparently warehousing and distribution improved/rationalise Any other workers/ex workers following these posts? I wonder if there are a lot of shareholders amongst staff. | gelp
15/8/2008 17:12 | well we look set for lift off, the last time we heard anything from the company was 3rd April. when they said a return to profit for the group as a whole is confidently expected for the current year. ------------- | windjammer
15/8/2008 14:23 | 100000 trade today at 37 | gelp
15/8/2008 08:04 | Sheila - thanks for your post. Will keep watching! | gelp
14/8/2008 20:46 | I WORKED FOR THIS COMPANY FOR SEVEN YEARS. I HAVE INVESTED A FEW POUNDS GIVE OR TAKE A FEW. CALL ME A DEREAM BUT THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER. KEEP WATCHING. | sheila blige
13/8/2008 21:25 | yep - and these guys are long in the tooth and pretty effective in the past with lot of ground to make up (for themselves as well as us).On surface way oversold as with others these days.CC may be red herring but the Spanish guys BESTINVER are real assett spotters (plenty on web) - they have 15% of CC. and with incredible record of seeking out value - may be they fancy both? results announce 'mid august' - not long and we have had no warnings since the last news projecting profit and div return etc etc. no news is good news? rationalisation costs i guess will come but one offs i hope.good luck! | gelp
13/8/2008 18:52 | I am still here and watching with interest. Something is definitely going on and it shoudn't be long before we found out. I repeat, this company is an ABSOLUTE STEAL at this price. The NAV is way above current levels. | psolomons
11/8/2008 20:52 | Yet another good percentage rise and not a soul on here, its great, absolutely great. Just wait until the rampers come on this will re-test 60-75p range easily. With the volume and share price rise over past few days this looks like it has some substance, possibly rehashed talk of US buyer willing to pay 80p a share. That will do me just nicely. Strong finish today should test 42p 2moro.!!! | topinfo
09/8/2008 09:06 | V useful kenatbabken, thnks. | psolomons
09/8/2008 07:41 | I emailed the company to find out when results were out and got this reply Thank-you for your e-mail. The date for the announcement and annual report hasn't been confirmed yet but the results announcement is scheduled for mid August and the report is scheduled for the end of August. | kenatbabken |
