I think that the Government wants to divest itself of the P.O.

Royal Mail, seem oblivious as to how the Post Office was a mainstay to their business.
Try changing the old stamps to the new bar coded ones. No you can't just exchange them in a Post Office, one has to go on the web and print off a form, fill it out and post it off! HELLO how hard would it have been to arrange with the Post Office to exchange old for new! After all the Post Office sells new stamps.

Also surprised to see my local Post Office advertising three different parcel carriers with Evri being the most prominent. Both organisations as dysfunctional in the real world, as your average government department. It's only their monopoly that keeps them afloat, as they have zero business/customer skills.

Given that the year end isn't until 31 March, you shouldn't expect the full year results any time soon. They were on 18 May last year.

I'd get the card from card factory and use an ad hoc pidgeon.

If you're paying £2.50 per card you need to discover shopping at Card Factory.

Anyway, when booked online, sending a standard birthday card is just £1.25 1st Class, or post it a couple of days earlier and it's only £0.75 2nd Class, with free collection (until the next round of price rises in April of course).

what's the better value £1.35 to send it from st john o'groats to landsend or £2.50 for the birthday card itself ?

Yeah it was as expected I thought.

Moaning about late post, rightly so though, and the business defending itself at peak season etc.

It's obvious though that without change to the USO the problems won't go away and a £5m fine is in fact a big plus for the company.

The data Panorama stated is 3.6b parcels in the UK per year for £12.8b. That's an average of £3.56 so you will always get them delivered asap because they are bigger than letters so take up loads of space and a letter ( 1st class ) only brings in £1.25.

Good luck all 👍🏻

I doubt that it'll be anything good. It may even end up being an election issue.

It's the Letters they are trying to reduce for obvious reasons.

Received a letter from Royal Mail the other day promoting Sunday deliveries.

I just don't get it, are they trying to reduce the working week or increase it??
