Singapore Airlines to raise S$5.3bn in equity, up to S$9.7bn via bonds:

Singapore Airlines will offer all shareholders S$5.3 billion in new equity and up to a further S$9.7 billion through a 10-year Mandatory Convertible Bonds (MCB). Both will be offered on a pro-rata basis via a rights issue, and both issuances will be treated as equity in the company’s balance sheet.

SIA has also arranged a S$4 billion bridge loan facility with DBS Bank, supporting the company’s near-term liquidity requirements. The company would use the proceeds from the rights issues to fund capital and operational expenditure requirements.

After nearly 50 years, KLM is operating its final Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet flight.

Flight #KL686 departed Mexico City to Amsterdam operated by Boeing 747-406(M) (reg. PH-BFT) nicknamed ‘City of Tokyo’. The aircraft is expected to land at Schiphol at around 15:00 local time.

Due to the worldwide coronavirus outbreak resulting in dramatic decline in demand for air travel, KLM was forced to move forward the retirement of its Boeing 747 fleet.

Yesterday evening I was looking at Flight Radar when usually the skies of Britian would be packed full of flights.

I saw the following commercial flights, 6 domestic within the British Isles, 4 Express cargo flights such as UPS, 1 KLM World Cargo Flight & 1 returning Rescue Flight and that was it.

How can you tell who is going on holiday and who is going for other reasons?
And how can you tell if the passenger has a UK passport or a foreign passport, ie likely exiting the country rather than going away for a 2 week hols?
I guess if it was a TUI flight or some other package tour operator plane then you pretty well know it's for hols. But chartered flights?

M1. what crackpots are going on holiday now, against all gov and WHO advice???
I bet in 2 weeks time, it will be near nil holiday passengers.
Can't see anything clearing up until end of June at best, as the virus is still popping up in new places all the time.
And the southern hemisphere is just heading into winter.
I'm being realistic rather than pessimistic.
A week or 2 ago the gov said it's would be 10-14 weeks or more to the peak. So I cannot see everything suddenly opening up as we hit the peak. You would have to let the curve dip down a fair bit the other side before even thinking about it, else risk of back to square one.

Dividends should be taken from profits, so no profit, no dividend.
To do otherwise is nuts.

15964, don’t confuse IAG departures with code share flights, look at Heathrow departures and arrivals, all those fights or the main are at the same time, reflects code shares!

Monty......give it a rest please. No point in posting any guesses at what the share price is going to be . It will be what it will be.

Or may be you would like to post what the market cap is at 50p , or 25p or 175p.
Are you in or out of IAG by the way.

Must admit I see 115p when the dividend surely knocked on the head and ask the gov for money. At 115p market cap 2.3 billion about right. With the uncertainty.
