I think divis are going to near evaporate in most companies for the next year or two with the extra debt, lower sales, redundancies, etc. It wouldn't sit well IMO.

TUI have been bailed out.

If IAG last through this, they could be the only company in the sector able to pay out a divvy

Virgin approaching government for state aid.

IAG absolutely solid and no suggestion that they will require similar.

Mate reckons BA Shorthaul still flying over 50% of routes at the moment. Be a turnup for the books if it turns out that things haven’t been anywhere near as bad as market sentiment when figures are released.

Jeez. Nearly 1000 dead in Italy over last 24hrs.
The US at peak will hit 3000 a day if it follows those stats. Hard to tell though. I daren't think about the UK stats. Tragic times indeed.

Feels a bit like the old storm clouds are gathering again in the markets.
I can see Dow below 14k and FTSE100 sub 4k over the next month or so. But total speculation as no-one has a Scooby.

Charts are pointless now. We are not in normal market conditions and this is not just leading up to a recession. Hourly news can change sentiment in a few seconds.

Maybe. But this isn't a regular reccesion in that it's triggered by a natural disaster. There's no hiding the negative. What you often see is a lot of big swings up and down in the first 6-12 months followed by a fall off a cliff. Normally with a little recovery in the middle of the fall where stimulus measures are introduced. I'd argue we're just about to come through the other side of that and we'll see the bottom relatively soon as the world comes to better understand the time frame and is able to properly price this in. What I'm trying to say is has been a mighty shove into the abyss. No dilly dallying. But the world has to get back to business first and foremost.

Recession historically take 12-18 months to go from recent highest high to lowest low on the chart during that phase of the cycle. If you take early Jan as the recent high point, then count out from that, but who knows, this is so virus news driven.

At the very least. I'm thinking 150ish low. Maybe even worse and that's assuming no bailout is needed and a full year after lock downs end to get back to 3 decisively. Two years to 4 quid and four to 6 is my time frame here. Waiting for worse to buy more. Just look out your window if you doubt it!
