25/3/2020 09:49 | Could well be over much sooner than expected. There was a big spike in deaths Dec/Jan over the previous year attributed to Flu. This has been in the U.K. much longer than expected. With one in 1000 hospitalised, it’s bad but not as bad as perhaps markets have priced in. | smithys2019
25/3/2020 09:43 | jailbird.....Sunak has offered the 2500pm but it doesn't mean that Companies have to apply it. Given that GOV are not offering any useful financial assistance to airlines, they cannot now be surprised if companies make employees redundant, as I expect IAG / BA will. Forcing companies to use all options before looking to take a stake in a company at the lowest possible SP, is not very tempting for any company. So they will have to explore other cost saving measures, which will inevitably mean staff cuts. The blame will fall to GOV when it all comes out of the wash IMO. Good uptick today, so investors see an opportunity here. | ![]() m1k3y1
25/3/2020 09:37 | Your delusional, another suckers rally, virus is still raging | ![]() milliecusto
25/3/2020 09:11 | These markets are like, if you are walking behind a pick up truck and someone is throwing out bundles of £50 notes..you’re going to pick them up and put them in your wheelie suitcase, as there is no other traffic coming up behind you. | ![]() ny boy
25/3/2020 09:07 | Yep, avoid those which will go bust or dilution needed. | ![]() hamhamham1
25/3/2020 09:05 | Hmm. Whole sector is up against the market. Even carnival. Just an illustration of how far these companies have fallen but also evidence they will massively outperform the market on recovery. Presuming they don't go bust or take a bailout. IAG is the only one I would hold IMHO. | ![]() dround87
25/3/2020 09:05 | Nope based on US $2 trillion stimulus bill. | ![]() toon1966
25/3/2020 09:01 | I think this rise maybe based on IAG surviving and benefitting from other failures | ![]() jailbird
25/3/2020 08:50 | Once CV has peaked the gov stimulus will be very supportive for global equities to ensure a strong V shaped recovery imo, not out of the woods but hopefully the markets bottom formation underway will provide a firm base to build on the recovery GL | ![]() ny boy
25/3/2020 08:47 | Now up 15% on open. Wishing I had bought more at 210 now | smithys2019

25/3/2020 08:19 | Spot on I think jailbird. This will be a textbook example of buy the rumour and sell the news. | ![]() dround87

25/3/2020 08:04 | I trust you are not selling, as you said you were buying on the way down? | ![]() hamhamham1
25/3/2020 08:02 | M1klyThey are saving jobs .. down to BA if they want retain them Cos will exploit this situation to get rid further Their IT is already bareboned and outsourced .Only front line staff are at risk The Government stated that airlines and airports are already benefitting from the ability to reclaim up to £2,500 per month of the salary of furloughed workers. There was also an implication that the Government may soon allow non-investment grade companies to access pots of state funding which may benefit the weaker players in the sector. | ![]() jailbird |
