You should make that call yourself. Do not listen to any here :)
If I couldn't tell which direction the market was going I wouldn't invest, as it's quite a gamble.
I'm gonna wait until there has been a resolution, yes I'd miss the first 10-20% of the rise but at least a direction would possibly be established.

lots of interesting comment and speculation on this thread.

But I am investor and I have to make decisions on strategy.
Do I put more cash into the market next week?
Do I sell more shares at a loss because things will get much worse?
Do I do nothing?

What are other investors on this thread doing.
Even if IAG falls tomorrow I will not be tempted here, looking elsewhere.

I had a recent punt at about £4 recently but lost my nerve and sold out quickly at a slight loss. Seems smart now, but it will seem smarter tomorrow.

Is nationalisation on the way?
HMG took back a rail franchise recently.
These are troubled times.

Disgraceful isn’t it? That IAG and the other outfits begging for our nation’s money? That is after having a jolly two months taking in passenger’s money concurrent to MINDLESSLY DISTRIBUTING CORONAVIRUS SARS-2 GLOBALLY!!!

Aaarrrrggghhhhhhh.

good point.

Boeing and Airbus will also be in big trouble.

Once the suspension is lifted a lot of the airlines will be streamlining thir business models. Lots of routes will be shelved , cancellation of orders ,sale of existing assets if they are not leased. So literally everyone will be looking for a government bailout.

snoopy, suspending flights will have a substantial impact on a lot of businesses , large and small, worldwide. I cannot believe that any country will want to have this suspension in place for any longer than absolutely needed.

I haven't seen anywhere that cargo will also be suspended and of course IAG has a very large cargo business.

I am just wondering how the majors like Boeing and Airbus perform tomorrow when the markets are open.

I am amazed how some posters are still posting that IAG are OK and will not need any state aid for the UK government when Lufthansa, Swiss International and KLM are now all asking for state aid.

IAG have Iberia and Vueling on lock down in Spain while many of British Airways routes have been closed down or severely restricted.

If anyone has a view on RYA, would be very interested to hear, thanks.

From an investment stance, not experience or flying with RYA!.

Dutch finance minister Wobke Hoekstra said Sunday that the Netherlands will do “everything it takes” to keep Air France-KLM operating.

Hoekstra would not give any details about a possible bail out but stressed that Air France-KLM was “vital for the Dutch economy” and said he was in close contact with his French colleagues and the Air France management.

On Friday, KLM, the Dutch subsidiary of Air France-KLM, said it would slash up to 2,000 jobs and ask for government support as it cuts working hours by one-third across its entire staff.
