American Airlines cuts 75% of international flights through May 6 and ground nearly all its widebody fleet.

Oops. Promise one last for today.
The share price is not the important thing for IAG, it's about having enough funding to get through, via either burning own cash, loans from gov or private funding.
The only people who look at the share price are the shareholders unfortunately.

200p would be my guess, it may bounce around there but I do not aee that lasting long either. Maybe a day or two but if if travel remains restricted like this for longer than a fortnight i do not see any airline surviving.

Locked in to current share price, are you joking? This will be 30% plus down on Monday morning won't it?

The ban on flights to and from US which kicks in on midnight Monday .A very profitable sector is likely to compound the matter. IAG may survive but not after closing a lot of the routes, returning aircraft, redundancies ,no dividend payment, reducing the number of seats in the cheapest class.
Currently it will be uninvestable and possibly locked in at the current share price for a long time to come.

Just one post from me today.
What I post here is my thoughts on what I would do for myself personally. It is not advice for any others here.
These boards can provide helpful info but also unhelpful info.
I would not make any investment decisions based upon what I read here alone.
I am going to be relaxed and pragmatic about any actions I take.
Good luck all.
See you tomorrow no doubt ;)

The money will be needed elsewhere. Let them all fail. Pick up the pieces in 6months.

Here we go , ( as predicted),

The airlines around the world, will no doubt, be bailed out, BUT THE BOND HOLDERS AND SHAREHOLDERS SHOULD RECEIVE NO MORE THAN 1P in the pound .

After all , it is they who took the risk, not the flying public or the government.

No chance investors will want the upcoming 500mil bond converted to shares that's due in Nov 2020. Let's hope they can roll it over suitable interest rate.

I also wonder if iag's rating will be downgraded aswell. Currently Baa. One or two notches from junk bond status.

No I'm not invested at the moment, however last week I was looking to invest some time this week after the drop. At the moment I do not see any airline or tour operator as uninvestable.

Airlines in Europe are now grounding 50% to 80% of their aircraft.

Even an airline like Delta Airlines with a huge domestic market are cutting 40% off their schedules this coming week.

If the airline industry in the UK totally falls a part this is how I believe it may go.

Virgin, similar to RBS to bail out government takes 80% stake.

IAG, similar to Lloyds to bail out Government takes 40% stake.

TUI UK is bought out by Easyjet, to bail out Easyjet government takes 20% stake.
