Love the highlands and enjoyed Inverness few years back after playing Dornoch about an hour north. Still in top ten of fav courses. Enjoyed pretty much all carrbean but west coast stands out for me in Barbados. Maybe Bermuda gets close as v civilised unlike Jamaica where you have to watch your back. Loved Toronto with Niagra . Did that with daughter for spontaneous trip few years back . Want to see so much more of Canada.

Oh, did Vancouver in 1994 at Abbotsford airshow. The following year at Toronto air shows changed markedly.Logging and scenery second to none.Let me recommend the A9 north of Perth for similar scenery, and the Inversnaid hotel slightly to the west. To die for, and love..? Yes, Britain punches hard in some places.

lol, I did Barbados around a decade ago and loved it. Safe to go shopping, swam with with some critters etc! I have Jamaica booked just after the hurricane season starts next year, and have recently done Antigua. Halcyon Bay now beckons, and that will finish my double tier romance. I got gold and will re qualify mid 2024.Cu Chi and USAF wrecks call 2025. Not in a morbid way, but in a way to count my lucky stars!Sounds like you like golf in the searing heat! I used to play when I was based in Northern Scotland, but frustrating and stressful. Nearly traded these today. I went for Barclays in the end, worth 15p in 3 months I reckon. I'm still long on IAG as I do believe, but these are crazy times. Let's see next weekend how this country remembers its history.

Ron have you tried out Barbados on the west coast yet ? Really civilised and top end with great restaurants and fab sunsets but it's also still relaxed and informal. If you Google Lone Star restaurant and villas in St James will give you a feel. Naturally it's a switch off type holiday. If adventure is your thing then Cape Town and Vancouver Island I'd recommend. Stunning scenery. See how you go

Whatsup, I had an email so looked too. I'm already booked until June, so am patiently waiting for seats this time next year in the Caribbean.I looked at a few places, but I'm travelling then to top up my Tier points for 2025, when I intend to go to the Far East for a month or so. Work used to prohibit travel to Vietnam, and whilst it doesn't now, I'm not quite ready... and when we do go I want comfort from start to finish.

Sort of, thanks!Im just mulling over a last minute booze run for Xmas, with a little sightseeing to go with it. Not easy with airlines, so may look at the tunnel and drive somewhere interesting.

Got a question for you!Do BA have a bucket warehouse for flights tomorrow that have surplus seats? It's not about tomorrow, but their offers page isn't cutting edge, it's a little further out.

Nice to see this standing up well to the geopolitics going on and the recent downward trend. For me signifies confidence still very much there after Q3 and maybe a view that todays prices will look v good two years down the road. Fingers crossed. Have a nice Tuesday all

Intermoney : Better than expected results at all levels. Well ahead of 2022 and 2019 data. Capacity reaches 95.6% of that achieved in 2019, but higher tariffs allow improvement on pre-pandemic results.

Revenues of €8,646m, +18% vs 3Q22 and +19% vs 3Q19. Above our estimates (€8,351m) and below consensus (€8,832m).

EBIT of €1,745m, +45% vs. 3Q22 and +22% vs. 3Q19, reaching its historical record in a 3Q. Above both our estimates (€1,388m) and the consensus (€1,578m).
Net debt stands at €8,000m (1.4x EBITDA) vs €11,100m in 3Q22. OUTLOOK 2023: Improved guidance

Expect to operate above 2019 levels in Q4 and by 2023 with capacity at around 97% of 2019 levels.

Around 75% of Q4 passenger revenues are already booked.

Expect fuel costs of around €7.6bn.

Net debt to rise in Q4 due to seasonal effect.

Assessment: Record results, again well above all estimates. It demonstrates the strength of the sector and the ability to maintain demand despite the sharp rise in tariffs, as well as presenting a good outlook for 4Q23. We believe that at current prices it is an attractive opportunity. IAG trades at 2.9x EV/EBITDA and 4.5x PER. We maintain our Buy recommendation and P.O of €2.2.

Key details from results, still cautious with lack of a forward-statement and demand & profitability for 2024/25

Hi Ron. Sadly there is no set pattern re fares as the Res system auto calculates based on routing, history and current sales. So for example JFK at Xmas is high demand and will normally stay v expensive. Short haul flight slightly less variables then long haul. If booking for next year then prob best to wait for sales between Nov- Feb in my view. Sorry can't help more

Appreciated and all good. Always accept apologies and likewise as didn't mean to offend. I'm the type of person who thinks debate is good as it's how we learn. If someone disagrees with me Im all ears but we all the same outcome so agreed with what you said. Apologies for my bluntness too and that goes to whats up too.

Spitfire, I'm apologising to you. You insinuated rather clumsily that I'm perhaps on drugs; for the avoidance of doubt I've never touched them. I'm redacting what I put with reference to a sore point of your I put earlier. It was unacceptable and outwith the spirit of this board. Let's agree to differ, but draw strengths to get the board in a happier place. Seems we have more people interested now.

Nothing can stop IAG Share price from rising after this Q3 result except the wider Middle East conflict -if one thought the Israel Gaza War would escalate to a Middle East War or bring in other actors into this conflict , then IAG would fall.

You could say for the last 20 years that house price crash is inevitable, but we all no what happened. Defied gravity. Prices totally out of reach sadly for younger generation, and rather than 3 times salary more like 10 times salary. I for one never expected the year after year house price increases to occur totally unlinked to inflation.Point of mentioning this is that people regardless want to travel - weekends away, holidays, etc; and it seems more than just one holiday a year. Unless mass unemployment occurs cannot see the travel sector being decimated. Time will tell.

Most in this country have mortgages and if not certainly debt on their c.cards. Rates even at 5.5% will prevent people getting new mortgages and those with paying more monthly .
It will also mean spending less on cars , restaurants, clothes and holidays.
Recession???

Looking forward to interest rates in UK peaking at 5.50% next month, and staying there until next summer. Inflation back to 2-4% by June 2024.Equities will be re-priced at the first sign of positive news.
