Jobs will be lost, a very serious situation.

I presume they can survive for 6 six months.
What is the Armageddon cash spend in an existential emergency?

IAG should survive with some cheap HMG cash loans.

Will business and travel ever be the same again?

Often a pointless indulgence that serves no purpose.

I'm hedged as in I haven't lost any money against a portfolio which includes iag as less than 1pc of a diversified set of holdings. I can guarantee 100 percent that unless this is the apocalypse, which it clearly isn't, I will make money even of iag goes bust. I have absolutely zero doubt. So keep telling me what to do and I'll stick to my own plan.

Hindsight, global pandemic, not even reached peak, even the slower people would have put 2 and 2 together, could last for years, brand new virus, people investing for a return next week, no one knows how long, how bad..no one knows, totally blind investing

Everything is easier with hindsight so I take it out of the equation. Regular investments in blue chips while I hedge my remaining cash. Smooth it out and end up riding a wave with a low average. So you do you and I'll do me.

The Times article has analysed the financial status of UK airlines BA only 0.35 % chance of going bust .It is one of safest and will gain from the aviation fallout They have 8bn Euro in debts ( a lot in long term aircraft purchases) but 4 bn in cash. Don't forget oil price will help but they will need to make some quick cutbacks - Park planes, cut routes and staff.This virus will kill off the weaker airlines - Norwegian and Tui among many others will be on trouble.

Have struggled with people buying any airline stock, for you to buy stock you have to believe the worst is behind us, that is clearly not true and absolutely no sign of it getting, so why are people investing, what is the pro and cons, more gamblers than investors

I have got to admit looking back a few weeks , I did not think it would get this bad .

If it was similar scenario to 2008 credit crisis, BA /IAG would have come out of it without any problems

But this is unprecedented, global airports shut and US could stop UK flights .. wow that is like 9/11 .

But got to remember that was just BA back then . This is a collective group of airlines. I am not sure anymore whether that makes better or not in this event .

Cash preservation is key now . Costs have to be reduced as no revenues means cash in bank is paying for costs now .

I fear now , if BA cannot survive then who can , say apart from Middle Eastern airlines ?

If US cuts out UK .. sub £3

Staff being offered voluntary redundancy or unpaid leave . Hope many take it because they don’t then it may be forced

Crew and ground staff need to reduced
IT staff , already skeleton staff as outsourced much of it . So where else can BA cut .
Smaller fleet , less routes in the short term .

It is a massive worry now

How many UK businesses went by the way side because we adhered to the rules in the past ???
