14/3/2020 18:28 | Yes big drop Monday sub 300p on this news. Will screw up all business and travel for months, even when we start to exit this epidemic | ![]() tornado12
14/3/2020 18:17 | Globally, you have to let the system find its base, fixing prices through freezing doesnt allow of the sitiation post defrosting. Better to let it fall naturally and rise naturally, BELIEVE ME, BOTH WILL HAPPEN. | ![]() hamhamham1
14/3/2020 18:14 | Some shorting of selected stocks is already halted. For example: "UK regulator bans shorting of Juventus and Ferrari The football giants and luxury car maker are among a host of Italian stocks subject to the ban following yesterday's sharp sell off." (13 March) How does that usually affect shorts already in existence? Are they closed out immediately at current price? Or merely frozen, tying up margin until unfrozen? | ![]() grabster
14/3/2020 18:12 | interesting IAG talk about BA's survival but nothing about the Spanish airlines in the group..I feel more bad news to come from IAG | ![]() jailbird
14/3/2020 18:10 | Thinking aloud This is when it was just BA BA's shares fell to 80p after 9/11..IMpact was no flights to USA for a couple of weeks but just fear of global flying was a problem. But this is much worse then 9/11 and will last longer than 2 weeks Sadly this could fall to 200p as recovery to normality will also take time. Also many countries have to reach peak cases before getting better too Sorry for doom and gloom, but this is my honest opinion from experience and working for BA for several years at the time and remember going through 9/11 as well at the time | ![]() jailbird
14/3/2020 18:08 | The thing is most all sellers of shares are traders. Pension funds and individual investors are in for the long term so will not be affected. They keep holding and recover. Traders live by the sword and die by the sword. Nothing will be suspended. | ![]() hamhamham1
14/3/2020 18:07 | Interesting Stats from HKG and SIN, very low infection rates it seems. | ![]() m1k3y1

14/3/2020 17:58 | Monty....it is an international problem, therefore it needs an international approach . IAG asking for it's shares to be suspended isn't the answer. All airline stocks should be suspended , oh and shorting also ! | ![]() m1k3y1
14/3/2020 17:58 | I thought I had the Coronavirus, said to doctor can't stop singing Bing Crosby and Dean Martin songs, he said don't worry you have crooner virus. | ![]() montyhedge
14/3/2020 17:56 | Share price goes down. Job cuts / savings. Dividend suspended. Refinancing. Bad results (x2 or 3 quarters). Sprouts of recovery. Growth. And so the cycle goes on! | ![]() hamhamham1
14/3/2020 17:49 | Dividend probably suspended fight for survival, my target was 2014 low of 315p now I reckon 195p. | ![]() montyhedge
14/3/2020 17:44 | NHS comment about printing money is interesting. We have got used to believing that everlasting wealth can be created for all by pressing a few economic nobs and levers. A childlike faith in the authorities and bankers. Biblical. 7 years of fat followed by 7 years of famine. the economic cycle has not been defeated. | ![]() careful
14/3/2020 17:39 | If the economy collapses it will be seen as a failure of capitalism. Socialism will return. Boris was lucky with his election timing. | ![]() careful
14/3/2020 17:39 | BA can ask for shares to be suspended any time. | ![]() montyhedge
14/3/2020 17:37 | 1 NHS - I thought it was a virus that caused the stock market crash and in addition oil shares with the additional fight between Saudi and Russia. Are you saying it is because of the printing of money | ![]() watfordhornet
14/3/2020 17:34 | The government money printing, has implications. That’s why we are in a depression, most can’t see it yet. | 1 nhs
14/3/2020 17:31 | Good shout - had not thought of that | ![]() watfordhornet
14/3/2020 17:31 | Got to say it does feel grim for IAG and all other airlines.I think the Govnt are going to have to reassure somehow - not sure how but maybe 0% interest loans to get companies through next 6 months. On positive I was reading vaccine testing gone well on animals. Presume not this year but still hope longer term. IAG will need some help - dividends from most firms will go( and I think fine) so pensions will take a hit | ![]() watfordhornet
14/3/2020 17:30 | It happens Ham...... | ![]() m1k3y1
14/3/2020 17:29 | Perhaps suspend shares, until Coronavirus passed. | ![]() montyhedge
