Best post today is 13715....very honest and easy to understand. The first 2 months figures this year and maybe 3 months will be quite appalling as Monty is indicating. Again watch this space on prediction that the worse strain is in rapid decline thank goodness, and the other more mild and less harmful. However, despite some Director buying over the last day or so at around the 450p mark sentiment remains very weak.

IATA CEO said it, don't shoot the messenger, $113 billion hit to airlines worldwide.

Montyhedge, the 113bn figure is the worst case of a number of scenarios ranging from 30 Bn for predicted spread up to 113 bn for zombie apocalypse. Please don’t distort the facts.

Towards the end of day, bears close take profits, then in the morning new positions.

Got a more general short going. Probably good for IAG but don't want to bet on the lack of an American rally off the back of some hair brained scheme. Could be a gap up on the FTSE tommorow.

Yes still posting. Would you rather you were left to promote buying the shares to others here without debate?

Hospitals in Italy at breaking
point as doctors
overwhelmed by
coronavirus crisis
Doctor who was on frontline in Aids
epidemic fight tells Alessio
Perrone current health crisis is ‘unlike
anything’ he’s ever seen before
Alessio Perrone 36 minutes ago
Doctor Angelo Pan is at work today – for the 24th day in a
row.
He has been on his feet frantically helping patients for 12
to 15 hours a day, before then spending two hours
dealing with emails and admin when he gets home at
night.
He is the director of the Infectious Diseases department
at the hospital in Cremona, some 17 miles to the east of
the cordoned “red zone”— the coronavirus outbreak area
in Northern Italy.
The Cremona hospital is one of the worst-hit in Italy, and
is facing what Angelo describes as a “tsunami” of
pressure and workload.

Will be closing my short before the bell. Not going to hold it overnight. No idea what the Americans will do. But I'll probably be back on it in the morning. Big drop imminent now.

Mikey, not entirely the full picture. If you change your flight and the price for your change goes up, you pay the extra. It’s only the admin fee that has been waived.

With flights being cancelled and planes half empty how long until they give a profit warning?

Monty.......changing flights with no fee is sensible and won't cost BA much. In addition there are restrictions on when you can do this.
BA / IAG will be handling this situation much better than others.
