Very funny Aph!

I notice from the last news Lockheed issued last week they increased there divi by 36%! seems they havent been hit by the credit crunch - recession proof. 2007 total sales turnover $41.9 billion.....and they choose to work with IGP rather than through RSA and then IGP....If IGP can start picking up more contracts with Thales, Gemalto and Lockheed whats to stop this company staying independant??? Yes it will probably end up like Vebnet but we should get a decent price for it....closer to £1 a share?? who knows...Depends what happens next may with the convertable loan note holders....

Bethesda, MD, September 25th, 2008 -- Lockheed Martin Corporation [NYSE: LMT] today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized a dividend increase of 36 percent or $0.15 per-share.

Following the increase, the company's quarterly dividend will be $0.57 per-share. The dividend is payable Dec. 26, 2008 to holders of record as of Dec. 1, 2008.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security company that employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2007 sales of $41.9 billion

As you know from my previous postings I totally concur with the comments contained in your last paragraph.

The present stock market weakness provides fantastic opportunities to buy companies like IGP on the cheap.

Keep the price low and when a bid comes around 60p we will all jump at it. Or will we?

A company of which I am a director and own 20% recently bought a business in Northern Ireland from the Receiver which was sold 2 years for nearly a £1m. And all we paid for it was the value of the stock heavilly written down!

I am afraid we will see a lot of good companies like IGP being snapped up for a token of what they are really worth.

But that is the credit squeeze for you.

I had to laugh today when a friend who works in a bank sent me:

Sir,

What worries me most about the credit crunch, is that if one of my cheques is returned stamped "insufficient funds" I won't know any longer whether that refers to mine or the bank's !

237, it depends on the period of the contract and how they book the revenue. If they can book the product delivery part upfront, then possibly, but the services and software maintenance will be booked over the life of the contract.

As boadicea says, more important is the effect on cash. Operationally, I'm confident that IGP will generate decent cashflow for the FY, which combined with their existing balance of 1.1mm and their history of very careful cash management puts them in a strong position going forward. The 2mm convertibles are due May 09 and while the convertible price is 15-20p and the holders have been happy to extend in the past, a cash balance of over 2mm by next May would mean they could repay all the debt completely and avoid further dilution if need be.

The growing relationship with Lockheed also speaks well for the future. They are the world's biggest defence contractor and seem to view their relationship with Intercede as very important - their recent press release on TWIC referred to Intercede as a partner and didn't mention RSA, despite RSA being the initial contractor for the TWIC card management system.

Also, it adds to the list of potential buyers - MyID is an integral part of Thales, Lockheed and RSA's offerings and as they win more contracts, so the importance increases. I hold Vebnet, who offer online pensions software, which were recently bought by Standard Life for 260p vs a shareprice of 120p. I don't think that will happen short-term since with IGP since I'm sure management have an exit price well north of 50p but I wouldn't be surprised to wake up one morning next year and find an agreed deal on the table.

"immediate advance payments of more than $500,000"
Brilliant news for cash flow which, in the current cash crunch, is a far more imminent concern for the market than actual profit.

WJ, what are your predictions now for the half yr result with this $0.5m downpayment? Any chance a profit in H1? We must be close to the £1.75mm sales target now for the half year and should be close to the break even with that?

Good news this morning and long overdue....This share should be back in the 30's by the end of the week. Hopefully a trading update to come as well....

The Tories support ID cards for foreign nationals.

Key workers is a tricky one. It will happen provided they can convince the workers it will give them (and us) increased security.

Yes Jailbird its funny how a little blue number on the screen can put a smile on your face. The news is all over the internet today with the ID cards and lets be honest, how many companies are there out there in the UK, or even Europe that could provide the CDMS for the UK ID card? At the moment I only have one finger up and Im stuggling to find another, especially in the UK anyway. IGP all the way. 50,000 cards to start with is peanuts and IGP could handle that in a couple of months or maybe even weeks once the system is up and running.

My only concern is the Tory's hate the ID card and they will get in with the next election. so we have 2 years to sort out the airport workers and the foreign nationals and possibly squeeze in the Uni/college students before the tory's take over....if we have press coverage tomorrow this could quickly move back up to where it should be.

i think that is why an increase in employees of the next 2 years is being mentioned.

Judging by last years interim trading statement - we should be due to a new one at the beginning of October - would be rather nice to see IGP stating that it was fundamentally involved with National ID cards. :-)

YEP HERE IT IS, i expect this share to move past 30p soon.

IGP look nailed on to be involved in the uk id card, and airport workers.

Earlier this year it was announced that an early version of the UK ID card biometric database will be delivered by Thales for £18m. It will produce cards for airport workers, who will have to start using the cards from 2009.

National Identity Scheme procurement activity – update
Friday 12th September 2008

IPS is pleased to announce progress on a number of procurements following the award of the National Identity Scheme (NIS) 'Strategic Supplier Group' framework in May 2008. In line with plans a number of firms have been shortlisted to go forward to the next stage of the procurements to engage in more detailed contract discussions for work on the National Identity Scheme and other requirements.

These are:

The 'Application and Enrolment' programme for replacement of passport application contracts and development of new capabilities: the NIS has shortlisted CSC, Fujitsu and IBM

The 'National Biometric Identity Service' programme for replacing existing biometric storage and matching capacity as well as development of new capabilities: the NIS has shortlisted IBM and Thales
Procurement has also begun within the framework for the design and production of Identity Cards. This procurement exercise is in its early stages and is expected to shortlist suppliers in the coming months.

A UK Borders Agency (UKBA) programme has also initiated a procurement exercise using the SSG framework for a partner to support development of an immigration casework system. This programme has shortlisted EDS, Fujitsu and IBM.
In addition to the procurements being run using the framework, a separate procurement launched in June to replace existing arrangements for the design and production of passports. As part of the process 3M SP&SL, De La Rue, Gemalto and Thales have been shortlisted to engage with IPS in detailed discussions.

Following detailed negotiations with bidders, tenders will be submitted for the contracts. These will be evaluated to decide which firms will be awarded contracts; these contracts are expected to be awarded in 2009.

Anyone brighter than me care to point out where IGP has its tentacles in?
