I'm not frustrated as I never bought in.
I saw straight through Howdys ramp tactics.
Just like to come back and see the fruitless results of his work...I notice he hasn't posted since!

"kiss of death" was igp doing well before then? and i thought i saw on this board that howdydoda bought more? i understand your frustrations but i think you will find the stock price demise from 70p to 23p has little to do with one enthusiastic poster on here.

I think Howdy Do da gave this the kiss of death a couple of weeks ago by going overboard on the ramping on loads of other threads.

I think I'll just turn off my monitor and hibernate until December's results – only 90 more trading days to go ...... Zzzzzzzzzz !

Value_Vadar - There are plenty of shares with promise and some with good profits + high potential that are on ridiculously low p/e's atm.
IGP doesn't have profits and is not stuffed with cash so it's not that surprising that it is not considered a safe haven.
However, it certainly deserves a place in any speculative growth portfolio, as its offering has wide application and it holds ip which is protected, we understand, by GB and US patents.
It may appear a bit of a one-horse outfit, but that horse has qualified for entry in many races - not just the UKid card. (Read back up the thread.) In fact, UKid is discounted in relation to the present share price

Everyone thinks the company is made or broken by the UK ID Card. When the ID card was happening full steam so was share price. Now its on the back burner a bit peeps have moved on.

I missed the hype but have accumulated a few although under water currently on the few I have. Will buy some more soon but not just yet.

this was tipped to me and a thousand others it seems by howdydoda and on investigation it seems to have potential. however i dont understand why we can see such an aggressive fall from 70 pence when the future is looking good. the 2 most recent rns's should have brought this back up. any ideas why this is still struggling in case there is a problem before i chuck in humble my few pounds.

Bought the 15,000, 10,000 and 5,000. Have more cash to drip in but that bloody seller was here again this morning with the 6,000.

Would only offer me 5,000 on the last buy so I think I may have soaked up just a little of the liquidity.

boadicea, yes, that's correct ie qualifying = via subscription, and not in the mkt.

ram - Whether or not an investment is "qualifying" depends (I think) on how and when it was acquired as much as what company it's in. E.g. I believe it has to be acquired at time of issue by direct subscription rather than bought in the market.
In the case of Hargreaves, it seems likely that IGP remains one of their qualifying investments.

re my above post:

may 07 placing was for 2.13m ords ie 5.9%.

so, even if they took the whole placing, which rns reads as though didn't, at max they couldn't have sold more than 450-500k since then.

Have not posted here since I sold months ago, but if moaning keeps me out of the poor house, IGOE, then I am glad to be rid of IGP, and you. Filtered!

IND at 17p would be equivalent to IGP at about 5p. Something to bear in mind... :0)

why are folks so sure that hargreaves was/is a seller?

(note that above states igp as a qualifying investment)

and from june factsheet (noting that this top up is non qualifying)...
Performance
The Net Asset value has increased to 94.20p, taking the total return to 104.20p. During May the Investment Manager made non-qualifying investments into Portland Gas within the Oil and Gas sector and into the Intercede Group within the Software/Computer services sector, in addition a partial disposal was made from Portland Gas . The fund is now 82.9% invested in qualifying investments with the remaining 17.1% invested in gilts, cash and
non- qualifying AIM investments.

is currently the 4th largest holding in the C fund...

Let's not get too hung up on the UK id card which may never happen. Certainly the perception of IGP will bounce around with the ups and downs of UKid's progress but it has plenty of irons in other fires which are burning quite brightly already.

More details about the id card.

A deal with the UK Border Agency for a case-management system will follow by the end of 2008, but the major contracts - creating the main scheme and worth around £500m each - are not scheduled to be awarded until next year, with ID-card production coming last.

looks like howdy has opened a can of worms.

Howdy,

spamming devalues the stock in peeps eyes..it makes you desperate.

keep it here.

I know u want to go up quicker, we all do...but i hoping it's time is near now.

This could be like IND as TTB said, but how much i would like, i do not see it making it as higher as IND has 40p - 850p!

keep dreaming!
